The kids are back in school, the leaves are beginning to turn, and I’m in full-on Fall mode over here, pulling out the faux fall branches and decorating the bonus room for fall. Other highlights from August were celebrating Polly’s birthday, finally choosing a color for our exterior windows and trim, and getting started with our next big project, the mudroom. But of course, I can’t skip over the super important research we conducted involving opening a bunch of cans–the can opener test! Sharing with you some of my favorite moments and products from the month below.
Lantern Pendants | Pergola | Barstools | Rattan Frame
Polly turned six years old, and we had the best time celebrating her with friends and family. Poolside pizza is how every six-year-old wants to celebrate their birthday, right?
If you want to make your kid’s day with the perfect gift, get them some Crocs and deck them out with Jibbits that fit their personality and style. We got these for Polly’s birthday, along with a new bike, this flying pixie, the cute projector star night light, a giant stuffed unicorn, and this snorkel diving mask.
Below you’ll find some of the besties from the month that sparked a bit of joy!
Okay, okay, I know we’ve already conducted the ultimate self-tanner test, but I’ve recently been trying a new one made with all-natural, organic ingredients. I haven’t tried it long enough to say it’s my favorite, but so far, I’m loving it!–Less streaky and messy on the sheets.
I snagged this from the Nordstrom sale, and I love how it elevates any outfit.
Don’t underestimate the power of using a wooden bowl as decor. Fill it with seasonal fruit, and then use it as serveware at your next dinner party.
This time of year, I want all the jackets! I added this vintage bomber jacket to my cart, and it’s giving collegiate.
I’m obsessed with the fit and detailing on these jeans, and apparently, so are all of you because my DMs were full when I showed myself wearing them!
I recently threw out my concrete tissue box cover because it didn’t cover the whole tissue box! So, I ordered this leather tissue box cover in 3 different colors. No more ugly cardboard tissue boxes sitting around. Available in 13 different colors.
You can’t have too many coffee table books… right? Of course, as we’re designing our primary bathroom renovation, I’ve been flipping through every single page, soaking in the inspiration.
Our favorite dinnertime conversations are had because of these talking point cards. The girls love it, and it’s nice to have questions asked other than “How was school today?”
My new favorite sunglasses. The rectangle shape is in, and the size and fit on my face are perfect. Not too big, not too small.
I saw this slushie cup on a TikTok, and I had to get it! After you freeze the cup, you pour your liquid of choice in and squeeze the sides to make an instant slushie!
I would live in these sweatpants every day if I could. The paper bag waste and split hem are such cute details.
I put these fall stems on the kitchen shelves, and they have never looked better. See more fall stems here.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.
The next project we’re checking off our 2023 project list is the mudroom! This used to be the laundry room until we built out a much bigger, better laundry room upstairs. So, in the meantime, this space has been exclusively Cricket’s room. Cricket will still have a special space here, but we’re transforming this dingy […]
