The next project we’re checking off our 2023 project list is the mudroom! This used to be the laundry room until we built out a much bigger, better laundry room upstairs. So, in the meantime, this space has been exclusively Cricket’s room. Cricket will still have a special space here, but we’re transforming this dingy room into a mudroom! I can’t wait to share the plans with you, but I thought I would tide you over with some inspiration I’m looking at for this project!

For context, this room is tucked at the end of the hallway behind the kitchen. Two of the doors lead to the garage, one door is a game closet, and the other opens up to the future mudroom.

I’m very drawn to the idea of making the new exterior door a Dutch door. I think they’re so charming! And these light blue cabinets could be a great addition to our home color palette.

The mix of wallpaper, cabinetry, and hooks is so attractive, but my favorite part is definitely the bench right in the middle. What a moment!

I’m such a sucker for a punch blue, and I love the way the Dutch door matches. Are we doing a Dutch door??

Heidi always makes me think twice. Like, oh! Maybe cabinets don’t have to go all the way to the ceiling. The hook detail on the paneling is so great!

I love a skirted moment! This reminded me of the temporary but very cute skirted curtain we had in our kitchen while we waited for our beverage fridge to arrive.

This high gloss burgundy color is so dramatic and swoony.

We definitely want to add some built-in feeding bowls and pot filler for Cricket. I love how practical this is without compromising on beauty.

Am I alone in loving the piping and embroidered monogram on this bench? I think having them in front of the lockers makes so much sense for a tight area. Also, I spy the same light fixture we used in our laundry room!
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.
