We’re still enjoying and enduring all this North Carolina heat, but I’ll admit, I’m getting antsy for some fall weather. I love everything that Fall has to offer – the shifting seasons, the color, the clothes, the food, the decor… Can we just take a moment to talk about one of my all-time favorite fall decor essentials? You guessed it – fall branches! When it comes to branches, I’m all about grabbing a pair of clippers and heading outside to get the real thing, but sometimes what you have outside isn’t what you want, and so faux is the way to go.
I keep my off-season branches stored in these shallow plastic bins in our attic, and I just swapped out the summer branches for all these pretty fall branches. I have quite the collection going, but I couldn’t help but add a few new additions to the bunch. And now the house is bursting with fall colors and textures.
I know they say your home decor can inform your mood, but I’d like to think my decor is informing the weather as well 😉. Is that too much to ask for? Admittedly, I’m taking notes from my own fall decor tips by styling these branches because they’re the simplest way to bring instant autumnal vibes into the home.
Faux Stems | Black Table | Wood Stool | Velvet Stool | Vase | Top Book | Bottom Book
Before you know it, I’ll be swapping out all the Pura devices with my favorite fall fragrances and layering in some cozy blankets to make the home ready for the season! Anybody else? Who knows, maybe I’ll be bringing out the faux pumpkins soon.
I rounded up all of my favorite fall branches for you at every price point, but don’t shy away from the pricier branches. Investing in high-quality faux fall branches means you’re not only elevating your decor game this season but for many seasons to come (plus, they’re typically larger in size!).
If you’re looking for pretty, quality vases to style your branches in, you’ll want to check out this vase round-up.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Any advice on cutting these to size?
I actually very rarely cut them, I just bend them to size, in case I want them in a taller vase at some point.
Hi – Love this image at the top – which room is that from? I would love to know the paint color.
Thanks!
It is in the bonus TV room! It was this color when we moved in so I am not sure. Sorry!
Julia! How do you clean your faux green?!
Just wipe with a damp rag
Love the delicate Burgundy Cotinus and Golden Yellow leaf branches. And I’ve always been partial to the maples too. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest where varietals grew well, especially my favorite, Japanese Lace Maple.
Thanks for the great list with visuals!
Excited to purchase some of the stems. I also love the end table is there a source for that or is that unique find? Thank you.
It is vintage, sorry!
Great round-up! I need to get some fall up and running in my house and stems may be the perfect way to do that!
Would love a blog post about which stems to put in which vase. I always struggle with that…
Me too Siel! I just posted a similar comment. I struggle too.
That yellow dried yarrow is calling my name!!
I love all my faux and dried stems too! Thank you for your recommendations! (I may need some of these now 😆). Related question for you though please: how do you store them all?! I’m struggling to find a good system. Thank you!
I have a big clear tupperware bin
Love these branches but as I live in Canada with gorgeous red maples I would love to know how to use these instead. Whenever I cut them the leaves tend to shrivel very quickly.
Which stem is the one you have in your main photo?!
Oh my goodness. Obviously I can’t read. Never mind!
These are lovely faux stems. Do you have 6 in the vase in the photo? I have the same vase and these look perfect!
I do!
