We’re in the homestretch! Did you see that we’re officially under contract? I mentioned in yesterday’s blog post that it’s a little bittersweet knowing our days are limited in this house. We move in June. I think it’s okay to feel sad about leaving this house, AND happy for the new family that gets to live here, AND feel hopeful for our new adventure in North Carolina, AND excited to love living in our new home. I’m soaking it in, feeling everything, and also looking forward at the end of the day.
When we first bought this house we did a house tour to document the start of a new beginning, not knowing how soon the chapter would end. And here we are – nearly two years later, writing some of the final pages of this chapter. Our family has lived here and loved here and I’m keeping in mind that the memories made in this house are coming with us. Consider this final video tour a sort of tribute to the home that’s been a place of growth, love, and laughter.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

We recently painted our study a dark, moody green color. This is after we first painted it a muddy green, then repainted it a blue-gray. I guess what they say is true; third time’s a charm! The journey was worth it, though, because I’m so in love with this glossy green in contrast with the […]

It is just perfection. I’m so glad to have a chance to see what can only be called your work of art, made more touching because it’s a home for people you love. Congratulations on having such a gift and using it so well. It’s beautiful!
So dreamy and beautiful !
Dreamy/moody (in a good way—unusual colors). Sighhhh. I’m shocked that you did all this in two years! Could you two pls take over the country??
hahaha sure.
Such a pleasure to watch, glued to every second. Stunning, just stunning!
WHY AM I CRYING LOL (but seriously)
It’s not common, although I am always hopeful that a space will surprise me and keep me wanting to seek out every detail – this tour took my breath away. Truly stunning…
Thank you for sharing love you two
This is such a wonderful home. What a a lovely way to keep it in your memories!
Side note: Am I the only one looking to see if there was someone crouched behind the front door? 😂 Also impressed that you managed to stay out of the mirror reflections,!
LOL I looked too!
Chris and Julia, what a wonderful journey! Thanks so much for shooting the video in landscape. The only thing missing was the gallant Willow showing up in the shot. Blessings on your new journey to health and happiness in your new home.
Can we talk about the magic of the front door opening by itself? LOL! Great work Andi! And beautiful home Julia! It was so cool seeing how the style of each room, which stand out on their own, flows with the whole house. So cool seeing how each of the projects we have followed over the last two years all come together to create a beautiful, cohesive, modern cottage. This house will be missed.
Will you share what furniture is staying? Always curious what a new buyer is interested in since it’s such a perfectly curated home! Thank you for sharing. This was so fun to watch.
We’re actually making a list right now! Will share as soon as we figure that out.
I agree with a previous poster. I got emotional too! So beautiful and your home has been so inspiring to me. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for your new house in Raleigh. I’m over in Charlotte so a lot of the architecture is similar. I will be looking for more inspiration!
Just watched the video and commenting here the same as on YouTube…I mean I’m following your blog forever and I know what you did in all your houses but wow, WHAT YOU REALLY DID in your houses is amazing when you see it all in once! Thanks for sharing! And I can’t wait for what’s to come for us as content but also for yourself as a family and as CLJ. All the best!
WOW! You guys do amazing things with your homes. It is just so beautiful! So excited for your new adventure and see what you do with the next house!! We are moving from Colorado back to PA, probably in July, so I will be anxiously watching for all your tips on a cross country move!! XO
Absolutely stunning! So much love and thought in every detail. Thank you for sharing this journey, I have been so inspired!
Ugh! Why did I get emotional over this?! This house has turned into one of my favorites of all time. Thank you for sharing this journey with everyone.
Thank you SOOOOO much for making and sharing this final house tour with us. It’s been so exciting to follow along your journey and see the culmination in this video. Every space is so beautiful and well thought out. You both are extremely talented in creating spaces that are achievable, comfortable, visually appealing and that families love spending time in. Can’t wait to continue this journey with you. Lots of love from Ontario, Canada!
I was wondering when you are planning on having a garage sale.
We are! Probably in late May
So beautiful!! So sad to leave, but exciting knowing there is a new home waiting for you- I can’t wait to see it!!
So beautiful, so sad to leave behind, but so exciting to know there’s something more exciting for you guys on the horizon!
I would call your home a modern traditional family masterpiece.
Amazing house, beautifully decorated, perfect for a growing family. Sadly, no longer right for you. That’s OK, the new owners will be thrilled and you get to start another adventure. Best wishes.
Already watched it twice… can’t wait to watch it in slow motion again later. So beautiful and so inspiring. Julia and Chris, thank you for taking us along for the ride.
Wow, incredible home tour!! What you have accomplished in two years is just outstanding. I love every room individually but also how they each have their own design elements, pattern and color that flow with the whole house design. This is truly a house that dreams were made for. Enjoy your last few months soaking it all in and enjoying your hard work! Looking forward to seeing the new house and hearing all of your ideas!
What a beautiful, elegant home, not house but home. You turned it into a gorgeous showplace that is livable. Amazing work!
