The way I love to express my adoration most is through gift giving. When I’m reminded of someone when I see something, I can’t help but get it and sometimes I can’t even wait for a special occasion. So to say, putting together gift guides — especially for Mother’s Day — is an act of love, I mean it! I mixed in things for my mom, my mother-in-law, things that I would want and things I would love to give them my best friend or a mother figure in my life that has helped me in some way.
I heard this comedian say, “If you haven’t given birth within five years, you don’t really want something for Mother’s Day that says ‘mom’ on it.” Which made me laugh (it’s true for me). Regardless, being a mother is still the biggest role in my life. It’s the thing I’m most proud of. It’s the thing that has given me the most joy. And it’s a personal part of my life that I don’t share much online.
Hopefully this guide gives you some ideas for the mother(s) in your life. And if it will make your day more special, you should feel empowered to treat yourself too!
Rattan Footed Bowl | $68
Updating an every day item is always a hit when it comes to gift giving. This bowl makes such a statement with the scalloped edge and footed base.
English Floral Platter | $99
If I don’t keep this for myself and dedicate an entire plate wall centered around this platter in my own home, it would be so lovely with a bow around it for mum.
Woven Straw Tote | $84
The perfect spring/summer bag does exist.
Great Escapes Europe Hardcover Book | $43
A beautiful addition to her coffee table and companion for dreaming about her next European vacation.
Cosmetics Case | $85
For the mom who loves to travel, this is guaranteed to be an upgrade for her cosmetics. Plus, that punch of green is swoon-worthy.
The Greta Ballet Flat | $148
The open weave on these ballet flats will easily carry her through spring and summer. Perfect for jeans, summer dresses, and everything in between.
Lighted Makeup Mirror | $224
A lighted mirror for doing my makeup and skincare is a game changer.
Textured Metallic Stud Earrings | $39
These oversized stud earrings feel like a fresh take on my mom’s vintage jewelry. A statement piece she is sure to love.
Titanium Always Pan Pro | $195
The Always Pan is a tried and true favorite and a go-to gift at our house but this one takes it to the next level. The titanium is non-stick but nearly indestructible, too.
Wonder Oven | $195
Looks like an easy bake oven, (is actually my favorite air fryer and does a bunch of other things top notch too)–AND looks incredible on the counter? Literally a mom’s dream.
Roses Stationery Set | $22
I keep this exact stationery in my kitchen desk for writing thank you notes or just-because notes. It’s absolutely beautiful in person.
Luxe Beach Chair | $140
For the coastal loving mom, it doesn’t get any better than this. A stylish beach chair that you can carry as a backpack? Done!
CLJ x Lightwell HouseWarming Soap & Lotion | $40 each
Nothing makes me feel more like a successful adult than a hand and lotion set. We developed this line with Lightwell to feel luxurious, nostalgic, and lived-in.
Straw Panama Hat | $24
Sun protection, but make it stylish. I saw a woman in Mexico wearing a white hat at the beach and it looked so classically beautiful, just like mom.
Recipe Journal | $22
A safe place she can keep all of those recipes she’s perfected over the years. I love the idea of passing something like this down to the next generation someday, too.
Utensil Holder | $31
For the mom who loves hosting a good outdoor summer party. The scalloped monogram liner just adds so much!
Printed Match Box | $5
I love to collect pretty matchboxes. The sound, the smell. Extra sweet paired with a candle!
Pickleball Pro Paddle | $39
Along with just about everybody, I started playing pickleball recently and I truly can’t get enough. And the best part is, getting beat by all the grandmas. New paddle is in order, I think.
Globe Vase with Brass Stand | $71
If you’re going to give her flowers, pair it with a vase she can use over and over again…like this stunning clear globe one with the brass stand. Oof!
Awning Stripe Half Apron | $38
When I envision my mom or my grandma, they have an apron on in the kitchen and it brings me so much comfort. I love this classic half apron, perfect for cooking or gardening.
Gloss Ring | $98
I love a jewelry piece that feels like a statement but is simple enough to wear everyday and this ring is just that. I got the silver one recently and it hasn’t left my finger.
Facial Toning Starter Kit | $250
A microcurrent skin-care device and regimen to help firm the face and neck, improve cheek contour, lift brows and smooth lines anytime, anywhere. Yeah, she wants this. (Please?)
Walnut Photo Frame | $25
With a photo of her mom.
Nola Silky Piped Robe | $99
An extra feminine robe to make her feel like she’s staying at a boutique hotel and spa all the time. I’d be counting down the minutes until I could slip into this at the end of the day.
CLJ x Lola Blanket | $109
Am I biased? Yes. But is this also the absolute softest blanket ever. ALSO YES. It’s one of my favorite things in our home and you can’t go wrong with either of our signature CLJ colors (Raisin & Lakefront).
Playing Card Set | $30
Rifle Paper never misses at making everyday things incredibly beautiful and these playing cards are no exception. She won’t be able to wait for game night after getting these!
Funnel-Neck Half Zip | $128
I’m a bit of a half zip connoisseur and very pleased to report that Lululemon’s extra long scuba is just as soft as the OG, but the LENGTH is so luxe and has “mom” written all over it. Love the gold detailing too.
Zip Duck Bag | $42
I love these do-it-all totes and especially love this one that has a zipper, too! Every mom needs a good carry-all. The gingham print on this one is just so good!
Metal Cake Stand | $79
From serving up desert to styling a candle arrangement, Mom-the-hostess is gonna love this one.. Available in a silver or gold finish.
Long Barrel Curling Iron | $149
My hairstylist used this 1.25″ iron and I got so many compliments on my hair afterward that I bought it myself! My curls easily last all day after using it.
Graza Olive Oil | $52
For the foodie moms out there, a set of top quality olive oil is such a great gift. Chris uses and loves this specific brand!

These charming ceramic plant markers will elevate her garden 10 fold.

Combine her love for puzzling and period dramas and you’re about to be named favorite daughter.

A good pair of garden scissors to bring those beautiful blooms inside would never go to waste.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]
