Befores, afters, mood boards, plans, failures, wins. We’ve done a lot of projects, and they’re all here.

We have a long-standing relationship with DIY, and love rolling our sleeves up and making it happen.

Soup season is upon us, and is there anything better than lifting the lid off of the pot for a steamy soup facial? These six soups are basically all stars, packed with so much flavor and creaminess and heartiness that you won’t miss the gluten or the dairy. Dare I say it? They’re better than their bread-bowled, cream-based counterparts. Grab a spoon — soup is so hot right now.

1. Pot Roast Pottage

Beaded Bowl (similar) | Dish Towel (similar) | Gold Flatware | Candle

A pottage is a soup whose thick and creamy texture comes from cooked-down vegetables — and this one is killer. It’s a hearty one-pot wonder, allergen-free, and a good stick-to-your-ribs meal in these colder months.

2. Turkey Sausage and Potato Soup

This is the creamiest potato soup — without any of the cream ;) I like to top mine with chives and hot sauce, but I wouldn’t turn down a bacon crumble on this savory staple.

3. Ham and Leek Soup

Is the star of this soup the slow-cooked ham shanks? Maybe. Is it the tender vegetables? Possibly. Is it the homemade chili oil topper? …Well, it’s not not the homemade chili oil topper. Serve this one as the appetizer in a multi-course fancy meal or just the next time the kids have a snow day. It’s elevating while still being comfort food.

4. Roasted Butternut Squash Soup

Linen Towel (similar) | Stone Bowls | Copper Spoons | Gold Serving Bowl | Serving Spoon

You shouldn’t have to live a life without butternut squash soup just because you’re gluten- and dairy-free. This version uses coconut milk — which adds a silky texture and a rich flavor. And don’t be shy with the spices! When done right, this soup is so flirty, it’ll make you blush.

5. Pumpkin Soup With Crispy Smoked Pork and Chive Oil

Bowl | Spoon | Pumpkins | Art (similar) | Candlestick (similar) | Copper Cookware

This creamy pumpkin soup is smooth and crave-worthy, and the chive oil and the pulled pork toppers make this feel like something you ordered in a restaurant. Good news: Since you made this at home, you can add as much chive oil and pulled pork as you’d like ;)

6. Pumpkin Chili

Bowl (similar) | Wood Board (similar)

Slightly sweet and a little spicy, this chili is also smooth and velvety, thanks to the addition of pumpkin. And don’t be intimidated by the spice list. If you don’t have all of these ingredients on your rack — just open up a packet of chili seasoning. But don’t skip the braise on the beef — it really adds so much depth to the flavor. To keep it dairy-free, go with vegan cheese and sour cream as toppers.
