Just dropping in to share with you what is going on over here–which is just like every other day, except this post is much shorter. Maybe the shortest ever. This morning, Greta and I trekked out to get some paint and while she napped (she actually went upstairs and climbed in her crib and went to sleep by herself–crazy), I immediately got to trimming those walls out.
So far. So good. I’m not even hyperventilating. Here’s hoping I get some good painting time in today (hence the mini post) so we can share lots more photos tomorrow.
Also, our new chandelier arrived this morning! Honestly, it feels like Christmas.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Ooooooh can’t wait to see how it turns out!!
Pins and needles!!!!!!!
I’m thinking of doign a black wall, so I’m extra excited to see how this turns out! Hope you have a productive day! :)
Gasp, SO exciting. Can’t wait to see after shots. Good luck! (And, um, congrats on that jealousy-inducing self nap behavior.)
awesome, love that you have an idea and go for it!
Ahhhhh!!! So excited!!! What a gorgeous color!
I swear by my brush! I never have to tape off. I have seen it at Home Depot and Lowes, but here’s a link to Amazon, too.

1. I’m so excited about the black wall – I think it is going to look amazing.
2. How do you trim so neatly??????? (sorry if you’ve answered that before)
Tough, indeed. Come back for the finished photos tomorrow!
I’m not normally one to comment, but wanted to let you know I am so excited! I’ve been obsessing about you painting and hoped you wouldn’t wait too long!
I’ve also been in awe over your bravery at getting rid of things you no longer like or that don’t fit your style and it has inspired me to go ahead and get rid of items I don’t love anymore. It’s always felt like failure to me, since I think i should just get it right the first time, and not change my mind! Tough lesson!
