One tip I always give to any DIYer or home renovator is to take before, progress, and after pics. It’s important to document the progress, even if you’re not posting them anywhere, because celebrating the progress is crucial for keeping the momentum going! This post is all about the before and afters of every project we’ve done in 2022, and I’m patting myself on the back. Sometimes the chaos of renovating gets to you, but these moments of reflection make it all feel worth it.
I ordered every single before and after chronologically, and even though some of these rooms aren’t “finished” finished, any progress is progress!
This last one certainly isn’t finished, but it’s almost unrecognizable, and I can’t wait to wrap this up in 2023!
Do you have a favorite transformation from the year?
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.
The next project we’re checking off our 2023 project list is the mudroom! This used to be the laundry room until we built out a much bigger, better laundry room upstairs. So, in the meantime, this space has been exclusively Cricket’s room. Cricket will still have a special space here, but we’re transforming this dingy […]

You have so much taste. Everything is so gorgeous! How do you get all the inspiration and ideas? My house looks all your “before” pictures and I don’t know where to start!
I can’t believe you accomplished all these makeovers in one year. Amazing! I adore your style and thank you for inspiring me to make my home a reflection of what I love. Can’t wait to see what you have planned for 2023!
You accomplished so much this year. Wow! The kitchen and back garden were my favorites but also the laundry room was stunning. Congrats on s stellar year of progress! Excited for 2023.
Impossible to choose one
Wow just stunning and so much awesome progress in a year, hats off you should be proud of all your great work! You inspire so many to dream big 😀
Mind BLOWN! You guys are incredible!
When you have renovated this entire house will you sell this house and find another house to tackle?
I so enjoy seeing how everyone turns their house into a home and you do it so well. My favorite is probably adding the oval window. In 2 homes we removed a wall or added a window and it made all the difference for me.
Seeing this as one post really highlights how much you guys did. It looks amazing!
Your home is looking so sophisticated these days! Very lovely. The dining room and the way it ties in with the LR is probably my favorite here. This home/style level did get totally unrelatable to me probably about a year ago though- we do not make the kind of money or afford the kinds of things you do at this point in your success. So it’s been bittersweet watching you guys become aspirational, not that I begrudge it but I don’t get pumped up and motivated for myself by your projects these days!
You are my favorite content…year after year. You have high morals, always are kind, show quality work and walk your followers through your process! Don’t ever stop doing what you do…it’s wonderful!
Hear hear! I agree wholeheartedly!
Wow! So much hard work! It’s amazing what all you have accomplished! So gorgeous and inspiring.
So much hard work and beautiful design all in one post! I think you forgot one project though! The downstairs hallway that you wallpapered! It’s small but still worthy of this list!
Ahhhh gotta add that
The kitchen, of course! And the dining room. It isn’t as drastic of a change as other rooms (like Greta’s amazing bathroom, wow), but I love, love it! It’s such a cozy room.
It’s kinda crazy how much y’all got done in one year. I can’t decide if the kitchen or the backyard is my favorite before and after. The backyard just looks so serene and it’s screaming for spring and summer to be here. I can’t wait to see what y’all do in 2023! Happy New Year :)
These transformations are so spectacular! Every one! I love the choices you make for your home. Thank you for all that you share. Happy New Year. 💗
I love before & afters! Starting a basement finish and heading to read about the kitchen again so I can recall the cabinetry colors you used for our bar area. Thanks for always being so inspiring. Happy New Year!!
Truly INCREDIBLE how you’ve managed to make so so many decisions in one year! Your home is certainly looking the refuge you aspire to have. The change to hide the risers in your front staircase is one of the most surprisingly impactful moments for me. Happy New Year to you and yours! Here’s to a great 2023!
Your house if absolutely an amazing transformation!! Can’t wait to see 2023 projects! :)
