And we are off to Hawaii! Chris and I are headed to Maui with our good friends, and I’m so looking forward to lounging around on the beach, hitting the spa, and hopefully spotting some whales. As I’ve been preparing for this trip, I’ve had to get out of the cold mindset and envision warmth, although we’re going during one of the wet months. I’ll take it! We’ll be staying at a nice resort, enjoying their accommodations, eating yummy food, and one of the nights, we’re going to a magic show! Can’t wait. I thought it would be fun to show you what’s in my suitcase, along with some vacation essentials for any future “warmer” trips you might have coming up.
When it comes to swimsuits, there’s nothing worse than having to re-wear a wet swimsuit! They’re just impossible to put on. I’m bringing some options so I can have about one daily suit.
A cover-up is the best way to “dress up” a swimsuit. I’ve been obsessed with this summersalt cover-up for over a year, and here are some others I’m loving as well.
For vacation, I love tossing on a dress and heading to dinner. It feels so easy, effortless, and comfortable!
I’m very into sets right now, and it’s new, but I love how they look, so I’m embracing it. It’s also good to have some shorts options to wear out and about or over a swimsuit.
Sandals are a must on vacation. Enough said.
I always end up stealing Chris’s hat when we go on trips, so I finally got one for myself. I’m also love the visor look, plus it’s nice that you can lay down with it on.
You’ve got to have at least one really great pair of sunglasses, and one you wouldn’t mind if it got lost during an excursion.
From sunscreen, books, lip balm, binoculars, here are some essentials you might want to bring on your next trip.
Here’s what I’m bringing with me!
1. Effortless Shirtdress Cover-Up $95
2. Straw Beach Hat $26
3. Signature Poplin Oversized Shirt $85
4. Pull-On Shorts $49
5. Hunza G Domino Swim One Piece $225
6. AGOLDE Parker Long Vintage Shorts $138
7. HOKA Ora Recovery Slides $55
8. Necessaire Sunscreen $25
9. Fest Aviator Sunglasses $55
10. Anderson Mini $70
11. SPF Lip Balm $4
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

We recently painted our study a dark, moody green color. This is after we first painted it a muddy green, then repainted it a blue-gray. I guess what they say is true; third time’s a charm! The journey was worth it, though, because I’m so in love with this glossy green in contrast with the […]

Hi, what are the suitcases.
https://monos.com/collections/sale/products/carry-on-pro?variant=32538695368778
If that’s all you are taking you must not be staying very long. No underwear or bras???
Do I really need to spell that out on the internet?
Did you also expect her to include medications, her wedding ring, hairbrush, toothpaste, and feminine products, Kathy?
Aloha! I follow you from Hawaii. You’ll love that magic show, it’s fantastic! Also, it’s been unseasonably dry here in the islands so you might have good luck with the weather. Enjoy your trip!
I hope your sunscreen is reef friendly. Hawai’i, especially Maui is really working on hard in saving their reefs and have banned selling all sunscreen that damages the reef. Not sure how they Enforce it when people aren’t considerate and bring it but they’re not selling it. We just got home from HI-hope you have a great time.
+1 for reef safe sunscreen. Please note or look into https://www.hawaii.com/travel-info/reef-safe-sunscreen/
The spf lip balm selling for an outrageous $25 at Amazon is only $4 at Target.
Do you have a link to your suitcases? They’re so pretty!
