Just yesterday, our whole team woke up in sunny Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, then flew back home to North Carolina. We had an amazing trip together, just soaking up the much-needed beach time, but it’s good to be home. While we were there, we had a fun little photoshoot featuring the best swimsuits and coverups we wore so that we could give you a full review in case you’re looking for a good recommendation! I’ll go first.
As someone with a smaller chest, I always feel a bit self-conscious in bathing suits. But this suit compliments my body shape so much that I feel so secure and confident when I wear it. There’s something about the sweetheart neckline, cap sleeve, and upper tummy cutout that’s really flattering and accentuates my body. Oh, and the print is so adorable, and now I want it in black.
I typically love to pair my swimsuits with my favorite denim shorts–easy to throw together and always cute. But I also love my Summersalt shirtdress cover-up and this mock-knot sarong in black.
Good American is one of my favorite brands when it comes to swimsuits because the fit is just SO good. These high-waisted bottoms feel really secure and comfortable, but they’re just the right amount of cheeky. One-shoulder tops are very in right now, and this one is such a good basic to pair with any bottoms. Disclaimer: This top isn’t super stretchy, so I’d suggest sizing up just one size. For this trip, I was on the hunt for an easy cover-up that I could just slip on after the beach. This skirt has a “mock-knot,” so it gives the effect of a wrap skirt, but you don’t have to worry about tying and untying. The slit down the side makes it so flattering and breezy.
I mean, how could an Andi not try an Andie Swim? These suits feel like you’re slipping on a tailor-made glove. It was that low back and squared neck that really stopped me in my scroll. As for my coverup, I always preferred to slip on shorts as a coverup, but wanted something more refined and easy breezy—these linen pants were the ticket to go from beach to pool to palapa!
Okay, I know it is a little bit of a splurge, but this Hunza G swimsuit might be the comfiest thing I have ever put on my body. The one-size fit is perfect for maternity, and I know it’ll fit great postpartum as well. This cover-up is such a good dupe of this Free People one. It’s great for wearing buttoned to breakfast but still breezy enough for the beach to give you a little break from the sun. I did size up one, although it naturally runs oversized.
For our Mexico trip, I packed a variety of swimsuits, and it turns out I exclusively wore Good American for every trip to the beach, the pool, and every water excursion we did! I trust that I’ll feel both sexy and secure in every suit of theirs, especially this electric blue two-piece. I’m a big fan of the high-leg, high-waist cut because it makes my legs look longer and holds me in. And the swoop-top is the perfect amount of swoop with adjustable straps for a higher hold.
As for the cover-up, I wanted something that I could throw on easily and would look good with everything. This is that! The black sheer is so flirty and fun to wear, and the high-leg is so flattering.
TA3 Swimsuits make me feel like a million bucks. The sculpting technology is unmatched — one pull of the lacing in the back, and I feel like I have a Barbie waist!
A classic linen shirt is my favorite cover-up. This one is from the men’s department, so it’s oversized and breezy. I wear a hat on every beach because it’s a great sun-blocker and outfit-maker.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

We recently painted our study a dark, moody green color. This is after we first painted it a muddy green, then repainted it a blue-gray. I guess what they say is true; third time’s a charm! The journey was worth it, though, because I’m so in love with this glossy green in contrast with the […]

Victoria, thanks for the styling tips! I might have to hunt through my husband’s closet for a shirt I can borrow. Or hit the thrift store. Off to a beach very soon.
