What can I say, some years you got all the gifts wrapped and nestled under the tree by December 1st and some years, it’s 10 days before Christmas and you haven’t even finished shopping for your immediate family yet (guilty and also, eek!). For those of you who fall in the latter category, let’s knock this out right here and now. A short round-up of a few fool-proof gifts that will arrive in time:
The ultimate ‘all-you-need’ male grooming kit for a man’s most sensitive areas. If he doesn’t have one, Chris insists every man needs a grooming kit that covers all the bases.
My earrings of the year in a pretty silver (I wore the gold for 7 months straight with my sensitive ears). They’re so lightweight and stylish!
Every DIYer and project doer will thank you immensely for this tool. We use it for nearly every home project we do.
The perfect spray to transport them to a dessert-y tropical paradise and ensure everyone ask them “What are you wearing?!” (I love to spritz this in my hair!)
Polly’s favorite toy she got last Christmas and still plays with it every day. (Just keep it away from fireplaces–iykyk)
For the jet-setter or one who always travels for business. Or even for your mom who has been lugging around the same bag for 25 years–she’d love an upgrade!
Finally an it-girl shoe that doubles as the most comfortable house shoe/slipper there ever was.
This year, I became a reader again and it was all thanks to this kindle that I got for Christmas last year. The reader (or want to be reader) in your life that’s always carrying around a book, would appreciate this so much!
Kids love them. Parents love them. And, honestly, there’s no such thing as too many of this fun magnetic building toy.
You wanna know what’s better than one necklace?? This one that’s perfectly layered strands.
There’s nothing wrong with a black purse, but a colorful one would definitely have them squealing. It says so much!!
Shhh!!! We got this for our girls’ group gift this year (truly, I’ve wanted one forever). Wish us luck setting it up in the playroom on Christmas Eve night.
Need something for your boss, co-worker, favorite thing party? I don’t know a soul that wouldn’t love a hunky coffee table book.
This straightening brush is magic and my teen is constantly stealing it–hint hint.
My go-to gift for the friend/sister who has everything. Is this smartphone printer that prints little polaroids straight from their phone photos (no more hoping you got the shot!). And then I print a bunch of photos out for them and put it in a glass display box to kickstart the tradition for them.
For the one who loves to stay in or entertain. A beautiful electric kettle is such a thoughtful gift, especially paired with a few of their favorite hot drink mixes.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.
SHop all

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

My uber sensitive ears thank you for the gold huggie earrings recommendation, they are so great!! I brought them to my company white elephant and my Favorite Things party.
The electric kettle is wonderful for older folks who might forgetful about things. We got one for my mom after she ruined the tea kettle on the stove. You could always pair this with a French press coffee maker which is also safer for forgetful people!
The Kindle is wonderful for older people since you can adjust the font size. The Kindle Fire is great for those who also want to access the web for news, watch a movie or whatever.
We are setting up a basketball arcade in the basement on Christmas eve too 😅 mu husband doesn’t know this yet…he’s going to wonder where my head was. Question, what do you use to put books on your kindle, Amazon prime ?
Use Libby! The app links your local library to your kindle and can read thousands of books for free. Or you can save them for when you/the book are ready.
