I’m so excited to see the overwhelming response to our HouseWarming collection with Lightwell! This scent is everything I want in a candle, and it’s truly humbling to know you’ll be enjoying it in your homes.

Candles are the perfect backdrop for lived-in moments at home. And as a candle lover myself, there are a few extra accessories I’ve picked up over the years that have made the ritual of candles even more fun for me. I thought I’d share some of the ones that I like to have at home or include in a housewarming gift basket or a special occasion!
My mom saw that I got my candle stand on Amazon. And so when I brought her a candle, that gave her an idea. She went to Ross and got a cylindrical low bowl and turned it upside down and put a candle on it. I was like, “You are so creative!” Anything can work, but I do think this footed stand is so fun.
David Beckham actually talked about wick trimmers in the Beckham documentary. He said his job every night is to go around the house and trim all the candle wicks. So, lesson here is be like David Beckham.
These electric lighters are great to have on hand, especially when I’m lighting a lot of candles all over the first floor before company comes. Also, they feel more child-secure. I think they are handy and functional, and you only need to charge them — they’ll never run out!

I love having some matches on display next to candles. There are lovely glass cloche-style ones or open-top ones in brass and marble. Whatever your style, you’ll find one that fits you.
If I’m only lighting one candle, I love striking a match. I love the sound, the smell, the look! I’ve been collecting matchboxes too — there are so many out there that are really cool and pretty. Even sentimental!
Candle Warmer Lamp | Picture Frame | Acrylic Book Stand | Round Table
We have one of these lamps, and I think it is absolutely charming. I love the ambiance it brings. It evenly heats the wax on your candle, which allows you to get the most out of it. It’s more safe too, if you’re concerned about having an open flame near younger children or pets or in the house in general.
Okay, these are fun! Candle snuffers remind me of something you’d see in a very historic, traditional home. But they also have a great purpose: you will lessen the chance of any splattering wax and soot when blowing a candle out. This also helps keep your candles looking more pristine! I love them especially when extinguishing the candles on the mantle that I can’t reach as well.
Here are some of my favorite accessories that can turn your home into a candle oasis.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

I wanna see your moms candle holder!
I got this beautiful vintage brass snuffer at an estate sale right before we moved and I haven’t been able to find it since! I only used it for a couple weeks but genuinely miss it.
