This month has been a busy one for our family. I took a brief trip to Idaho to visit my Dad, who’s undergoing cancer treatments at the moment, and while I was there, we finished up the Fullmer’s nursery! We also put the finishing touches on the CLJ Studio, covered in our Stuga flooring. Faye’s room got new wallpaper, and we answered your frequent question, “Does a bedroom have to have a closet?” Hands down, the highlight of the month was taking the girls on a Disney Cruise! We had the best time, and I shared everything in a story highlight here. Here are some other mentionables from the month.
Chris has been hesitant to jump on the air fryer train, but this one got a double thumbs up from him! Shop more colors here.
In case you were wondering, Faye’s new armoire is everything I hoped it would be, especially paired with the wallpaper she picked out.
When the curtains you ordered don’t make it in time, you get creative and use tablecloths as curtains.
June brought some highs and lows, but here are some favorites that made life a little bit better.
Can’t say enough about this suit! I have it in two colors and wore both on the cruise! So comfortable. (I get the long torso version)- still on sale – 30% off with code SALE30
On Sundays, I stray from my everyday skincare routine and go all out. Been using this mask for years and it makes my skin so incredibly soft and glowy.
My best friend Meagan convinced me I needed a kindle and she was right. I brought it on our cruise and kept it in my bag and it was so fun and easy and LIGHT to pull out to read my book (I read happy place and lessons in chemistry that week). I’m not a huge reader, or wasn’t. But this makes it so easy, I’m into it.
An air fryer that Chris approves of, AND it looks adorable on the countertop. A win is a win. And for those thinking it looks like an easy bake oven, I’ll just say, my kids love using it too.
Looking forward to finishing up Faye’s room in July. No regrets on taking out her closet and using this lovely armoire.
I just ordered these oversized retro sunglasses, and I can’t wait to wear them poolside all summer.
This game will forever be a favorite! Perfect for packing on a family trip, along with all these other games.
Not gonna lie, I’m slightly envious that Kelsi gets to use this in her nursery and it wasn’t around when the girls were babies.
I wore this to more than any other this month. It’s so incredibly soft and stretchy and the fit is just right. I got a medium. Brb buying this in every color!–Run, they’re 20% off right now.
This burger press is on Chris’ essential grilling tools list, and it’s the secret weapon to his infamous smash burger recipe.
Who knew tablecloths would make such lovely curtains? Psst. I also got one for myself to use as a normal tablecloth–The perfect addition to Freddy’s nursery.
Ordered this on the way home from the cruise, so if that doesn’t tell you what state my hair was in (FRIZZY), I don’t know what will! It was out of control. This stuff WORKS!! And it works through multiple washes. We’re in the most humid part of the year here in NC and I’m wearing my hair down. If your hair gets super frizzy with humidity like mine—get this! I promise.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]
