Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

It just has such a presence. And kicked your old sink’s boot-ay.
I have one and LOVE it, never going back!!
So great to hear we’re in good company.
The sink is looking amazing! Love the new faucet too.
Your whole kitchen is so yummy :)
Have a great weekend!

We got that faucet when we re-did our kitchen a couple years ago and I have to say it’s one of my most favorite things in the kitchen, no, in the world. You might be surprised how quickly you adjust to just touching it and it turns on and soon you will go to your friends’ homes, not think about it, and wonder why their faucets don’t turn on. … until you realize… oh, yeah… they don’t have that faucet :)
Hilarious!
That faucet looks awesome! I want one now!!
Years ago I read an aritcle about Guy Fieri’s kitchen design (Food Network mag maybe?) and he had a foot petal for water to come out of the faucet. So.dang.smart!
Wouldn’t that be sweet!
It looks great!!
Two questions: if you’re trying to clean the faucet will the water be turning on and off or can you shut off that feature? I often old onto the faucet with one hand while I scrub / wipe with a cloth in the other.
Second – my wood floors swell and shrink with the seasons, will your countertops do the same? I absolutely love the look but I’m worried about the seams gaping at different times during the year. Are the butcher blocks too thick to have this worry?
Hi Jessica,
First answer – the touch only works when the faucet handle is moved to the “on” position. So if you have it turned off, no matter how much you touch it, it won’t run any water.
Second – yes, the countertops will “breathe.” This is one of the possible downsides. But the company sent us detailed instructions for how much space to allow, and you install the countertops without glue. Just small screws with fender washers, in over-sized holes. That way the counter can move as needed. Since our pieces are mostly small, we aren’t expecting big gaps, but we’ll keep you all updated.
Love the simple/clean design. Genius idea and looks beautiful with your countertops! Some sticker shock …but it’s a little less expensive on amazon $399
There are some under $300 on Ebay too. When there’s a will there’s a way. Haha
I am absolutely drooling over this set up… and patiently waiting the installation of the much anticipated backsplash!! I have been contemplating switching from a double compartment sink to a single but I feel like that’s such big step. Do you see any draw backs in converting?
i never understood how this worked…does the faucet have to be “plugged in” to something electrical?
It actually has a battery pack that powers it. If the battery goes out, it just works like a normal faucet until you get the batteries changed out.
Just regular AA batteries. :)
I am in LOVE with those counter tops. Could you do a post on how you’re supposed to maintain those bad boys?
Once we put some miles on them, we definitely will.
SHUT UP with the before and after!!!! Does not look like the same place at all!!
I’m totally jealous! (But, ouch, the price tag!)
