This photo may have been taken back in the day, before I even knew Chris, but he still laughs that hard and it is one of my favorite things about him. There is a reason for the flashback Friday. After a full week off from work and a nice stay-cation around here, we are headed to Chris’s homeland of Idaho for his 10-year class reunion. When I asked him if it felt like it has been ten years since high school, he replied, “Yeah. Ten years and a couple months.” So, I uhh guess, there you have it. For me, a couple years younger than Chris, high school seems like a lifetime ago. Or maybe a completely different life altogether.
Chris had a great time in high school and still keeps in touch with a lot of his oldest friends, so he is thrilled about the reunion. Our question today is would you (or were you) just as excited about your high school reunion? Even though this isn’t my high school reunion, I was excited to get dressed up and mingle until I found out the dress code is casual. Casual? Like *gulp* Hot-Wheels-t-shirts casual??

We didn’t make it to Logan’s ten year a few summers ago. I always regret it. We’ll make it to the twenty. And hopefully have a handful of kids to show off. :)

YES!! Hahaha. Okay, totally not wearing a prom dress–eeks!–but I might wear a summery dress considering Chris is SO HAPPY about the “casual” and can’t wait to wear shorts.

Hahahahaha “jargos” I NEVER heard that one before. Considering I moved my senior year, I feel like I couldn’t go to my Pittsburgh class reunion, since I didn’t graduate with them and I have zero connection with my class in the west. So, I am living this reunion UP. I am organizing a Briggs/Marcum reunion. We just GOTTA.

Don’t worry Julia, you can still dress up to the 9’s if you want! At my husband’s reunion last year one of the girls wore a formal prom dress and then was super embarassed all night long so we thought we’d specify casual and then if you came dressier than that you do so at your own risk knowing you might be the only one in a prom dress. So dress away!! :)

LOL that shirrrrrrrrrt!!!!!
Ryan’s reunion was last year (he celebrated is 11 yr this June!) Eeeeks! I guess my 10 yr reunion isn’t for another 2 years, and I don’t see for any reason why I should go (seeing as though it is back in Seattle). High School for me was fun, but I agree with you, it feels like a lifetime ago. LOTS has happened in 10 years. Heck, I’ve been married for 4 years of it, known Ry for 5, I have a 2 1/2 yr old!!!, and MOVED from Seattle, and I think that is probably the biggest reason why it feels like an eternity. If we still lived in the area, I see possibly going just to say that I went, but I don’t even know.
One of my favorite things about Chris is that he always laughed SO hard when I made a joke or did something funny and that always made me laugh along even harder. I am no comedian, but the way he laughs makes me look like a A-list comedian. hahaha
Have fun! And boo not having a nicer dress code. “Casual” can be taken MANY different ways. Let me know if you see any jargos (jean cargo shorts :-)

Chris hasn’t really changed over the last 10 years has he? Jealous!
The other day I was talking about high school and I said it felt like nearly a decade ago. Then one of my friends pointed out that it was 8 years so really it’s not that far off. I feel so old now.
I can’t imagine anything worse than a high school reunion with people I went to school with, they’d have to hold it in either a prison or a day care centre!

We almost went to my 10-year this year, but I found out the few people I actually cared to see wouldn’t even be there (and they live there, oddly enough…). I moved the middle of my junior year to IF so I didn’t know a whole bunch of people. I’m glad I didn’t go because there ended up being a BIG drama over alcohol vs no-alcohol beforehand. Blah. AND they switched the venue to a bowling alley last minute… and like you, I kinda wanted to dress up a bit more than alley-wear… BUT a few years back we could have gone to Brad’s 10-year and I wish we had. He didn’t have the best HS experience so I think it would have been therapeutic and I know a decent amount of people in his class from having grown-up in the same stake. Ah well. Definitely skipping my 20-year (they want to do a cruise??? is that crazy to anyone else???) but want to make it to Brad’s 20-year! Have fun!!

I’ll be honest I wasn’t too thrilled about going. I’m glad I did. It was fun to laugh obnoxiously loud, catch up with old friends and meet you! So now when I blog stalk you and leave a remark you’ll know who I am… hopefully you remember… cause that would be awkward right now.

High school was only 5 years ago for me, but it feels like ages! Have a great time! Bummer about not being able to dress up!
