You can see more of our girls’ office here!
We’ve gotten a lot of questions over the last week about what furniture we’ll be selling with the house or if we are selling the house furnished. You can read here about why we decided not to sell our home furnished this time around. However, the buyers were interested in purchasing anything that wouldn’t translate to our new house! We made a list of each item, along with a link to where it was from and the discounted price. (We discounted most things 40-50%.) They decided to purchase:
The large entry floor mirror, our canopy bed, both dining tables and the 20 leather dining chairs. The adirondack chairs around the fire pit, the green sofa in the girls’ office, 2 of the swivel chairs in the music room (we wanted to bring 2 with us). The vanity and chair in our closet. The reeded cabinet that is in our office and a few outdoor tools, like our riding mower and 4 wheeler with snow plow.
These things will all be a separate transaction from the house sale. We’ll also be having a big yard sale where we’ll be selling a lot of smaller decor and furnishings later in May! Our home’s inspection is on Monday and word has it they are sending out a cabinet guy to measure the kitchen (which makes me so excited! this house is in good hands!)

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Beautiful room! Did you use Accessible Beige full strength or at 75% like on your trim throughout the house?
All of the trim in our house is at 100% accessible beige. In one area we tried 75% but changed it after a couple months
You won’t need the snow plow in Raleigh. 😂
All those sandals are so cute, but I can’t wear a one of them! Skinny feet + non-adjustable foot straps = turned ankles. Let’s just say I’ve learned my lesson there.
I wonder if the new owners would be willing to send you a picture of the redone kitchen for you to share here. That would be fun to see.
I love those sandals you shared the other day!! They look so comfy, added them to my wishlist!
