Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Love it! We really need to get the wiring to have an overhead fan or light in our living room. It’s all table lamps right now.
Hi! Been following for a little while… Love the site design and everything you all post!!
One time, I got hit in the head with a ceiling fan in Julie Russin’s kitchen, and it left a long bruise on my forehead. Been afraid of ceiling fans ever since :)
The only person I know who uses “fantastic” is Sarah Jessica Parker when she talks about Sex and the City.
That looks awesome! My husband really wants a ceiling fan in our bedroom so I may need to look into this site!
I’m in the market for 3 ceiling fans and these fit the bill perfectly! I can’t stomach the price of it but I’ll add it to my “when I win the lotto” wish list :)
I wouldn’t have thought myself one to have an opinion on ceiling fans, but I FREAKING love that one. Nice choice!
Love the modern, yet warm look of the fan! Great choice!
Love that Fan choice….I’m doing a master bedroom reno right now and a new fan was slated. I’m so handy wiring but for some reason the fan’s scare me? Does Chris have any other tips…aside from turning off the power..hehe. Saving money on an electrician would make me so happy!
We turn off the power and it is honestly like any other fixture. Our fans have both come with detailed wiring instructions, too. You can do it!
Hi Katie! Turning the power off is definitely the most important. :)
Outside of that, there are a couple things to know with fans. First, most light boxes in ceilings are not designed to hold a fan. So it’s important to check and make sure your box is mounted properly to support the extra weight. If you’re replacing an old one, then I’m guessing you’re fine (though it doesn’t hurt to double check, in case the previous owner didn’t know what they were doing). Another thing to note is that you may have some extra wires, depending on the fan. You only need to worry about this if you’re hooking your fan to one switch, and the light on the fan to another. If you’re trying to do something like this, I would do some additional research and contact the fan company to make sure you do it the right way. If you’re not going to have them on separate switches, then you’ll connect the extra wire to your black wire from the fan, and connect both to the black wire in the box – though this may be different with each fan so you’ll want to check with the manufacturer to make sure. I hope that helps!
Gorgeous fan!! A light that suits you is such a great topper to the room. I re-did the fan to our living room last year (by renovating the old fan) and I still smile to see it :) Not to spam you with a link but I love the result:

Callie! Wow!! That is amazing!!!!
So nice!! I love the style. Your living room is so gorgeous!
Thanks girl. It’s coming along.
Looks great! Modern but warm…perfect.
My parents have the fan you replaced in their living room, and you are right about the dim light! Although my mom hates overhead lights so it isn’t a issue for them. The new one seems to match your style much better!
