The Pottery Barn Friends and Family sale just started and you can take an additional 20% off the whole site–including sale finds!–with code FRIENDS at checkout. While there are some exclusions, I scoured ALL of their sites (baby, kids, teen, dorm and plain ol’ PB) to find the best deals for you. The linen cabinet from the girls’ bathroom above is from Pottery Barn. See their whole bathroom right here.
I got a question earlier in the week whether or not the sales I find will be better than Black Friday Sales. Many will because these are sales on top of sales and some are things they are clearancing out, so they may not even exist come November! Although, the mindset is definitely right–don’t wait until Black Friday, this is a once yearly sale and a lot of these would make great holiday gifts, too!
Click the arrows on either side of the pictures, to scroll through all the deals in each category. I put the price at checkout (using code FRIENDS) along with the original price, so you can see how much you’ll save.
LIGHTING
DECOR (Including Mirrors, Frames, Signs, Plants and a really cute pair of slippers!)
FURNISHINGS
TEXTILES (Including Rugs, Pillows, Bed Skirts And Window Treatments!)
While these are all the best discounts (seriously, some are a whopping 75% off!), keep in mind their regularly priced items are also 20% off, so if there’s something you’ve been eyeing (for me–it’s this farmhouse wood bench that’s now just $80!), now is the time to pounce! Don’t forget to use the code FRIENDS to get that 20% off! Shop the whole sale right here.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Chris and Julia,
Quick question… I am struggling to find a good flood light for my inside recessed lighting. They are all either to yellow or to blue! I thought maybe since you had the perfect light bulb for lamps etc you might share what you use in your recessed lights. Thanks so much, Aimee Dotter
We have these Cree bulbs in our kitchen and family room!
What are the perfect bulbs for table lamps? If there was a post on that, I need to read it! Thank you! :)
3000K all the way. We like Utilitech brand.
