Sometimes, when I am having a particularly stressful day or moment, I start planning the nursery in my head. I guess it is my happy place. We’ll probably start the nursery after the new year, but I can’t stop myself from gathering ideas, or as this post illustrates–art. Is there anything sweeter than art for wee ones? There is a lot of nursery/kid appropriate art that is animal-centric. So, I divided the round-up of eighteen into two groups: the animals and the other. The first nine are the animals and I melt at every one of them.
Of course many (if not all) of these pieces could work just as beautifully in an adult space, but just as appropriate for a child’s room or, in our case, a nursery. And good news (!!)–not a one is over $50. Which is your favorite?? I can’t wait to order number 4, and 13 reminds me so much of Greta from a year or so ago.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

I love ALL of them! At first glance, #5 almost looks like the deer is being targeted with a gun, ha, but it is still darling. The peeing cloud is my favorite!
The Monkey is amazing! I want it for me. :) I love #12, I want to get if for my daughter’s room.
and I definitely want the peeing cloud :). Oh and the balloon!
Hahaha! I love the “peeing” cloud! That is hilarious!
Love #12. What a beautiful message for your child!
#15 all the way! It’s perfect. I’m almost 30 and I wouldn’t mind having it in my office…
#15 is my fav. It fits my two youngest boys to a t.
#18–I’m dying. bahahaha!
This is fabulous! Thanks for sharing … you should do this for every room of the house!
I love #’s 1, 4, & 5 from the first collection but a cloud that says “I pee on you” that’s the real winner here!!!
If you like #4 you should check out this shop on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/berkleyillustration?ref=l2-shopheader-name). We have a series of the animals in our guest bath, I love them!
What a beautiful way to start a Monday with these pieces!
Are you familiar with Jane Heinrichs? Her paintings feature a fair amount of animals and whimsy and are absolutely stunning.
