Check out the difference between the new white walls in the studio and the now-beige-looking door swinging in from the hall:

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

My vote is #1. Love that Tiffany Blue.
Question: How do you feel about painting an entire house in pure white (as opposed to off-white, i.e., Swiss Coffee.” I’m thinking about doing this, but I’ve always read that when painting whites on walls, don’t use a plain white. Thanks.
Bam! That eggshell is gorge. The room looks five billion times better. I am such a sucker for Martha’s Sea Glass, but I thought the hummingbird was more fun and suits the purpose of the room. Good luck!
the white looks so nice! can’t wait to see what color comes out on top…i foresee a closer finish!
I originally leaned toward #1, but ended up picking #3. I’ll be pleased with both!
MUCH better. I love all the shades you’ve picked (turquoise is my favorite colours, how do I pick just one???)
All great choices, I voted for Hummingbird blue. Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Holy cow what white paint does to a room!!!!! Woooooo! It looks a million times better already!!!!! I voted for 3. I like #2 but it is a bit bold for my taste. But who knows! I’ve never seen a ceiling painted in any color so I’m new to this! But I like it a lot! I would loooove to do this in a nursery or in a kids room someday. Ooooooo! I am loving this room already!!!! I am SO curious about the flooring you want to do…
I know! I am so anxious to see where we end up!
Reader’s choice is the name of the game for this room. Can’t wait to see it evolve myself!
I’m in love with teal right now, so that was my vote, BUT #1 would be really pretty too!
Looks like this poll will be alot closer!
It looks SO much better!! Crazy what a fresh coat of paint can do! ps. I love how you are including us in all your decisions :) Love the choices for the ceiling color!
I really love teal, but I voted for #3 so you could kind of have a blend…they are all fabulous choices, though- it’s going to look great no matter what. (minus #4, really not a fan!) I’m thinking the painted ceiling is definitely happening in my playroom!! LOVE it!
My first gut-reaction choice was number 3. Then I stared at them for about 10 minutes and had no clue. Pros and cons to each, but 3 still felt like the best one in the end.
