We all grew up twisting our hair up into a large towel, only to have it unravel 5 minutes later. Gone are the days of using the same towel you dry your body off with to dry your hair. Your hair deserves better than that! A few years back, I started using an Aquis hair towel, and it has held up pretty well, but I wanted to see if there was something better out there and so I put eight different hair towel wraps to the test. Over the past few months, I’ve been testing a variety of hair wraps to dry my hair, and the results are in!
Generally, when I hop out of the shower, I dry off and whip my hair up into a wrap as I proceed to get ready. Sometimes I’ll apply self-tanner, then makeup, and then I’ll dry my hair so it’s wrapped up for about 10-20 minutes, depending on the day. Since using hair towels, I’ve definitely noticed my blow-drying time has cut down significantly! And I’m happy to report that all of these towels work well! But since I’ve been using them back-to-back, the strengths and weaknesses stand out clearer. In other words, you can’t really go wrong with any of these, but there are a few stand-outs that are just better designed. Let’s get into it.
This was the first one I tested. It’s also the most expensive one, and it’s basically just a small towel with an elastic band to tuck your hair in. Pros are that it holds well and did a good job at drying my hair. Con is that if you’re a long-hair girly like me, you might have to tuck your ends in.
I actually loved this one! It’s very similar in shape to the Crown Affair towel, but it’s bigger in shape, half the price, and I found it to be the most absorbent. You can see my hair sticks out of the ends a bit, but if you’ve got shorter hair than me, this would be perfect! It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing, but it worked like a charm.
If you want a basic 3-pack of hair towel wraps and the best bang for your buck, then this is your best bet! This pack wasn’t my favorite, but they definitely held my hair up. I would say the material is more of a plush, which almost repelled the moisture rather than absorbed it.
This was practically identical to the 3-pack.
I’ve had this one for years, and it’s pretty great! It has a nice little hammock to sling my hair into before wrapping, and the size is substantial. The stretch is nice, the shape is great, and overall it’s a really lovely design! I wouldn’t say it’s the most absorbent but it gets the job done.
If I had to place this one, I would say it’s better than the 3-pack, but not quite as good as my long-time Aquis towel. Nothing too special about it, but it works! This is another good option if you’re wanting a few towels on a budget.
This microfiber is SOFT. I was really drawn to the material and the cute button and it did an excellent job at holding my hair and drying it. It feels practically weightless on top of my head and I keep reaching for this one out of the bunch.
Okay, this microfiber hair towel is satin-lined, which really cuts down on frizz for me. I was nervous about using it because I doubted it would dry anything, but it totally did! And it’s comfortable enough to sleep in. This is another one I keep reaching for!
Okay, okay, if I had to choose my favorites, I would go with either the Satin-Lined or Microfiber Kitsch wraps, or the YFONG towel wrap. Any of these will do the trick, but if you want the best of the best, then trust.

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

i’ve been curious about the coyuchi one!
I love the kitsch! Been using that one for years. I have others from them that aren’t as absorbent in my opinion! Interested in trying the satin lined. I always sleep in mine!
I’ve tried similar hair towels and liked them alright, but my favorite is a simple, organic cotton flour sack towel! I flip my head over, lay it over the back of my head and tie the corners in front, then flip the end of the towel back and tie the other two corners behind. It doesn’t twist my hair at all that way, which is perfect for my naturally curly, fine hair. It keeps my ringlets completely intact while it absorbs extra moisture.
Then trust? …..Which towel wrap is the best of the best??
No Turbie Twist?! That is like the original hair wrap! I swear by the Turbies- so good!
Have I been using my hair towel wrong?!?! I put the button on top of my head and twist my hair up on top of my head, not down near the nape. Seems like I’ve learned something today!
