Remember that decorating for fall is more about inviting a warm and comfy feeling into your home, and a little goes a long way! You don’t have to go all-out and decorate your whole house; instead, sprinkle in some fall decor pieces in the main living areas to set the mood.
When I think of fall, I think of plaids, gingham, warm woods, and fall colors like burnt orange and rusty red. Simply setting out a basket of apples in the kitchen signifies the change of the season.
I’m all about grabbing a pair of clippers and heading outside to harvest some real branches, but sometimes what you have outside isn’t what you want, and so faux is the way to go. If you need some inspiration to get you going, be sure to check out this post.
Fall decor is more than just pumpkins and wooden signs; it’s about the feeling of comfort that comes when the weather shifts, and all you want to do is cozy up with a warm blanket and a cup of hot tea. A woven throw suggests “Fall” without literally spelling out “F-A-L-L.” See my tips for decorating with throws here.
The season for ALL candles is upon us. The ambiance of a flickering candle is unmatched, plus tapered candles and candlesticks add so much color and height to any space!
It wouldn’t be fall without pumpkins, amiright? Whether you prefer real ones or opt for cute faux pumpkins, they’re a must-have. You can place them on your porch, scatter them around your living room, or style some shelves with them like we did in the kitchen.
Update your wall decor with autumn-themed art. You can’t go wrong with a landscape featuring the changing fall colors! Swapping your Frame TV art is the quickest, most cost-effective way to breathe some fall spirit into your home. (Tip: Most smart TVs have the capability to display art now-a-days so check your options even if you don’t have the official Frame TV).
I cannot think of a better house compliment than, “wow, it smells amazing in here.” And if we know anything about fall, it’s that it’s all about the fragrances!

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.
