After we bought our home in 2021, we were in a race to lay new hardwood flooring before moving in, and it was one of the most stressful parts of the entire renovation. We flew across the country to approve the color of our stain-in-place white oak, only to be disappointed with the options, and were back to the drawing board with a tight deadline. Flooring makes a HUGE impact and is a big expense, so we wanted to LOVE it. After some trial and error, we got it right.
We immediately started working with Stuga to make a wood flooring available for you in a perfect shade inspired by the flooring we have in our home today. It took some time, but we did it! We DID IT!!! And it’s installed in our new CLJ Studio space coming soon…
It’s even more beautiful and durable than the wood flooring I have in my home! Honestly, it’s perfect. And if it had been available a year and a half ago, it would be all over our house. The contractor who installed it in the CLJ Studio actually asked us where he could get it because he wants it in his home! I don’t blame him. Down the road, when we work on the guest house, we’ll install it there, and I’m already jealous of our future guests.
Our history with Stuga goes back to when we renovated the Cabin in the Idaho mountains. Their Scandanavian hardwood flooring completely transformed the cabin, and we fell in love with their stunning wood varieties and their unmatched durability. We then installed their Ingrid flooring in our Modern Cottage home because we knew that if they could withstand snow and wet boots in the cabin, they could withstand a lifetime. And that’s exactly what they promise–a structural warranty to last a lifetime and a 25-year warranty on the finish. I’m getting ahead of myself!
So, of course, when Stuga reached out to collaborate and create engineered wood flooring for YOU inspired by our wood floors, we did not hesitate, and they completely delivered.
The Faye collection, named after our middle daughter, strikes the perfect balance between modern livability and timeless style. Faye has delicate swirling grain patterns and subtle knots, which adds to its versatility in style. The mid-tone brown hue is the perfect, natural brown, which will add warmth to any space. Here are more features to get excited about!
Pictured above is everything you’ll receive in your welcome box, but you can also purchase a free sample of Faye today!
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

We have a condo downtown Raleigh and are thinking about doing a floor and kitchen remodel. I got a sample of INGRID and love it, but my husband wants something a little warmer. Do you have anything a little more brown?
This is so pretty!!
I love it! We have real wood flooring in our downstairs and would love to put this in upstairs. Do you think upstairs and downstairs floors need to match exactly?
Just ordered a sample, it’s beautiful! So classic 🫶🏼
I am THRILLED to see this news! Thrilled both for you and your new collab but also for me, who is looking for new flooring and this is perfect. :) I don’t see it on the list of options for stair nosings though. Will this be an option on their website soon? Or would I have to select a different flooring for the stairs?
Yes!! Stair nosing is available! I’ll touch base and make sure we make that more accessible on the page
