I can imagine that compiling posts like these — researching, sourcing, creating the post itself, adding links, etc — is a lot of work. I appreciate that this is one way that you support your business and provide for your families. However, posting and, more to the point, promoting this kind of content on your social media feeds right now comes across as tone deaf and unsympathetic during a time when so many are suffering and struggling and trying to raise awareness of that suffering and struggling. Documenting the projects you’re working on in real time is one thing, but actively promoting items that are luxuries while so many are trying to make their voices heard (and others to amplify those voices) about the serious problems confronting our society feels shallow and self-serving. That the CLJ brand should come across like that is unfortunate, since I’m confident that that’s not how you y’all feel personally. I appreciated your call to donate to and support organizations that are fighting for equality and anti-racism in your Instagram Stories, but I hope that y’all will use the large platform you have to do more than mention it in passing.
I’m not angry (though I am disappointed), and I’m not unfollowing, just hoping to offer a little constructive criticism.
