He cut tiles, mirrors and glass with one tool and very little effort. Normally you would need a wet saw to cut these things, but with this tool (and a little oil on the blade) he showed that you can cut straight lines or curved lines. My eyes got big. My mouth dropped. And Chris pulled out his wallet. $30 later (he gave us a great deal) it was ours and we can’t wait to tile some floors now. Or cut a crazy shape out of a mirror. Ha!
Here’s the lovely Stephanie’s arm demonstrating the tool. You just score it with the rolling blade.
And gently squeeze:
It is soooooo cool.
Steph went all in with both hands:
Brandon was only a dollar short of being the highest, but that didn’t keep us from celebrating with a bite to eat afterward. It was such a fun night and I can barely wait to use our tile cutter. I guess the Laundry room DOES need some new flooring. :)
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

We bought one of those at a home show as well and we LOVE it. It works fantastic.
I’ve never seen a tool like that but it could make small projects much easier. Looks like you two had a fun night out!
It can cut any tile, glass or mirror. Although, I don’t think it would be able to cut stone–I’ll have to look into that. And that leather jacket was a Christmas gift from my sister. You can see me posing right after opening it in our Christmas movie I posted yesterday ( http://chrislovesjulia.blogspot.com/2012/01/bradley-christmas-movie.html). The home show was the jacket’s maiden voyage. I love it.
What a cool little tool!!! Does it only work on certain tiles?? Those pictures of grabbing the money…lol. PS more deets on this fab leather jacket please!
Soooo hilarious because as I was watching your family vid and it came to you posing I just started laughing so hard because I think it is hilarious to see people posing for pictures! hahaha you were definitely working that jacket giiiiiil! I definitely need to get a leather jacket as an outfit staple. It is so classic.
Great little tool and fun little post. Thanks for sharing. It’s fun to get to know the ‘blogger’ behind the ‘blog’. Your idea of a ‘date night’ sounds just like my ideal night… now just to convince the hubby that a home show is more fun than a UFC match. ;)
Woot! Just a big WOOT!
