This post is in collaboration with Honey!
I was helping my friend shop for hardware for her cabinets last week, and after she put them in her cart, she went to go search for a promo code, and I stopped her in her tracks! “Do you really not have Honey installed?!” In two clicks, we had it installed on her computer, and she saved a good chunk of change on the hardware. You know I love shopping with Honey, the online shopping money-saving tool, and I just want everyone to know about it! Anytime you’re online shopping, it will automatically scour the internet for active coupon codes and apply them in one click. And when there aren’t coupon codes available, you can earn rewards for shopping with Honey. (You can see how we did Faye’s entire room with pieces I got at a discount thanks to Honey right here!)
With Honey, I shop with confidence, knowing I’m getting the best prices. I was honored when they asked us to collaborate with them on a capsule home collection!! With their new collections (you can see mine right here!), they’ve brought together great pieces from across the internet and brought them all in one place so you don’t have to shop a million sites looking for what you love.
I love the idea of a “capsule home” collection — pieces that can go in any room, in any home. Especially on the verge of a move, it’s nice to imagine that some of the essentials we’ve been collecting in our home here in Idaho can easily translate to our future home. I’ve started to realize that I have a formula for layered design. Every room could use some sort of bench or ottoman, side table, lamp. A Vase, mirror. Art. Something green. I worked together with Honey on this little capsule collection: I chose my favorites; they search for the best deals. It’s a win-win. These are room essentials that would look just as cozy in the living as they would in the guest room. I zoomed out, choosing pieces that are versatile and that I think could fit *any* style.

It’s easy to invest in these pieces, because they have staying power, but they don’t need to be expensive. We’ve teamed up with Honey to create this collection of our favorite items that we’d buy over and over again. My hope is that if you’re looking for a piece to finish off a room, this will provide some tried and true favorites!
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Curious why you’re still promoting the canopy bed you guys had to cut up just get into your house? Doesn’t seem realistic for most people.
We didn’t cut it up to get it into our house. We just had to bring it in through the balcony way. Still love it so much
You’ve shared about Honey a few times in the past but I always forget to do it. I’m glad you keep sharing because this time I’m actually going to put it on my computer when I get home from work.
You won’t regret it!! It’s free and so worth it
