I wasn’t overly-excited about any of the curtain options I was finding. I wanted something fresh and inspiring and then I came upon the tapestries at Urban Outfitters and I thought, “Those would make some pretty amazing curtains.” I know they won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but the room is in dire need of a punch of pattern play and these huge tapestries will provide just that. So, which is it going to be?:

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

We recently painted our study a dark, moody green color. This is after we first painted it a muddy green, then repainted it a blue-gray. I guess what they say is true; third time’s a charm! The journey was worth it, though, because I’m so in love with this glossy green in contrast with the […]

Yes of course crazy good! Crazy good like how your ceiling is teal. I’m dying to see this room come along. Edge of my seat, here!!
While I love both #1 and #2 I have to go with #2. There is just something about it…maybe the darker colors for contrast. I don’t know, but its calling my name and I am voting for it!
P.s. I am a little sad that the sphere light didn’t win.
One more question… will there be one of these pulled off to the side, or two of them like regular curtains?
i was initially all over #1…then i kept looking at them and decided #2 gave more options for other “stuff” and a little less crazy. you do have to work in there, after all.
This is such a fun idea. Will there be anything else to choose!? :)
I think this poll is the hardest one of them all! Totally torn between option 1 and 2!
I’m all for the Birch Trees, brings nature in, and is subdued enough that your creativity will shine.
Me, too Laura! Help!!
Crazy….good?? ;)
It’s lovely! Where are all these people voting for 2?
Oh yeah!
Woohoo! I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
oh goodness, i absolutely love all of these! it’s all about going big or going home!! :)

BEYOND in love with #1!
I’m with Meagan! I loooove #1! What a great idea to use a tapestry! I never would have thought. It’s looking good!! ps. We are in the process of painting our bedroom Zinc!! I’m lovin it.
I love how crazy both #1 and #2 are, but I think the brown tones #2 down a little more. That’s what I’m going with.
Even if I do use it, you can use it in your house! Hahaha. ;) It’s surprisingly REALLY affordable.
Loooooove #1. If you don’t use it, I may use it in my house!!!!
I’m thinking one on each side for this room, although I can totally see how one pulled to the side could look amazing in other spaces as well!
Hmm. Not sure. The readers have voted on every element so far, but the room is about complete. But if I do come across anything else in the studio that takes some deciding–I’ll definitely leave it up to a vote!
Love #1 and #2 but I think #2 give you a little more color flexibility as you accessorize and as the room evolves. #1 seems to lock you into lots of red. But it sure is pretty.
ok, thanks! :) I’m just so glad to have found this! I haven’t found the right curtains anywhere and would never have thought of using a tapestry.
We got two of them, but they are very wide which works for this room because we wanted the curtains to flank the entire wall. You could definitely get by with just one though.
I LOVE your curtains! Good choice with #2 :) Just wondering if you used one tapestry for the curtains and halfed it and sewed them or was it one tapestry as a curtain panel (2 total?) thanks :)
