We believe we should all love where we live.

We’re a couple of homebodies, working to uncover the home our home wants to be. And we’re so happy to have you here.

Befores, afters, mood boards, plans, failures, wins. We’ve done a lot of projects, and they’re all here.

We have a long-standing relationship with DIY, and love rolling our sleeves up and making it happen.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.

Did you know that baby shoes cost the same as adult shoes?  That doesn’t make sense.  Greta is gettting blessed this upcoming Sunday, May 2nd.  We have been looking for little white shoes for her to wear.  Either the shoe store doesn’t have infant shoes or they are the same price as a pair of my shoes and I can’t swallow that.  In my opinion, Greta’s shoes should cost maybe $5.  I finally found a pair at Payless.  They were $12.99.  Overpriced but cute.
I have had another thought for quite some time. I think it would be cool if food cost the same as the amount of calories it had.  I think it would make it a lot easier for people to eat healthier.  Like if a burger had 700 calories…it would cost $7.00 and the 270 calorie salad would only cost $2.70–I’ll take the salad.  At the grocery store, the produce department would be bumpin’ and maybe I would steer clear of the ice cream a little more.  Who do I talk to to make this happen?

    What am awsome idea!

  2. Seriously awesome idea! It would sure make me eat better! Unfortunately..it is so much more expensive for fresh fruits and vegetables! You should have gone down to The Circle of Love. I’m sure Heather would have been happy to help you out with some sweet little blessing shoes. She gave me some for Maddie’s and they were just perfect. You should check! Those other ones are super cute though!

  3. I think to get this food/price idea rolling you just need to go and start doing it. Tell the cashier they rang it up wrong. 270 calories= $2.70. Don’t they know that? Did they miss the training session?
Can’t wait for the weekend to see that little bebe again!

  4. AMEN about the food. lol

And I don’t even think we put shoes on Brinley for her blessing. We just had ruffy bum tights and ruffy socks. No need for shoes. My mom got cute patent white shoes but lets be honest….the girl can walk so she isn’t wearing shoes!!!!!!!

Wish we were there with you guys! We love you! (come visit us in NC…you’d love it!)

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]
