We have a long-standing relationship with DIY, and love rolling our sleeves up and making it happen.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.

This post is sponsored by Linen Market: an eBay exclusive.

There are three things that I do every morning that vastly improve the outcome of my day. First is go to the gym or work up a sweat–even if it’s just 30 minutes! The second is get ready for the day. Working from home, I used to be tempted to stay in lounge wear every day, but putting on real clothes and doing my hair and my five minute make-up always puts me in the right mindset to tackle my to-do list. Lastly, make the bed. It takes me less than 3 minutes and it makes me feel weirdly confident and very adult. In the back of my mind, I know at the end of the day, I’m going to be able to relax in straightened sheets and well, I deserve that pleasure!

eBay recently launched Linen Market, an exclusive bedding collection that features high-style/high-quality for less and I ordered a Linen Market for our bed (and for the cabin bedroom–you may have caught that in this post). It’s super soft and offers just the right amount of weight to fall asleep under, while not being as hot as a traditional quilt. We don’t use a top sheet, because they are too light weight for the hassle, imo–but Linen Market is just right and buys me time in between duvet cover washes.

And! It was just $50 for the king and around $30 for a queen. Although ours looks like it could definitely use a steam, I love the added texture it adds to the bed, too. Here’s a quick rundown of how what goes into making our bed every morning:

  1. Fitted Sheet
  2. Coverlet
  3. Duvet
  4. Chris’s body pillow
  5. Our normal pillows
  6. Decorative Shams that match duvet
  7. Decorative Pillows

It’s true, number 6 and 7 aren’t functional parts of our bed, but they do serve to make me happy day in and day out and even help to inspire me to make the bed every morning! I just love seeing it all neatly put together.

You can check out the entire Linen Market line by eBay right here!, including this down alternative comforter that might be the most affordable, plush duvet insert I’ve ever come across.

What do you think?

  1. Cher says:

I’m thinking of buying this bed very soon! I can’t figure out though…do you have some sort of xtra frame or box spring in the bed that raises it up some? It appears it is the same fabric of the frame. I worry about the bed being too low for my taste. Thank you!

  2. Sanita says:

Had to laugh at *Chris’s body pillow* – I had to get extra pillows for my husband to hug :))) but they are regular king size ones. Did not even think of a body pillow – any recommendations on a good body pillow?

  3. Haley says:

Do you use the linked duvet insert for your duvet? Struggling to find one that fits well in ours! Thanks! Your room is gorgeous!

  4. Erin says:

Not using a top sheet would never ever cross my mind! Interesting idea!!! This is a crazy question, but do you really sleep with the entire coverlet untucked on all sides? Would it be too thick to tuck in tightly?

    • Julia says:

Do you like sleeping with blankets tucked in??!! Neither of us can stand it so, yes, we keep it untucked on all sides. But it’s definitely thin enough that it can be left untucked.

  5. Sara says:

I’m extremely tempted to buy that coverlet. Question though-how often do you wash it and can you just wash it at home in your machine? Very important considerations here..thank you!

  6. ShellP says:

How about the pillows you sleep on? So tired of mine going flat & I usually need 2.

  7. J says:

Looks great! Is your duvet cover also from the same place your insert and coverlet are from? Thx!

  8. Savannah says:

Where do you recommend shopping for duvet covers? I typically look to Ikea, but I know there have to be more prints and styles out there, and I hate the Duvets that don’t have a removable cover!

    • Julia says:

Almost everywhere carries duvet covers now. Ours are from Crate and Barrel. I love West Elms. Does Ikea have the handy ties in the corner to keep the insert from shifting?

      • Savannah says:

I’m fangirling just a little bit bc you responded… But to address your question: Ikea doesn’t! I’ve actually sewn in ties myself to solve this issue! It is so funny to me that you mentioned not liking top sheets bc I am the EXACT same, and my mother never understood, but they are the worst! I thought I was alone. I’ll have to check out what is available these days, Ikea used to be the only affordable option, but maybe more stores are branching out!

  9. Silvia says:

Do u sleep with the duvet from crate & barrel or just the thin quilt? Cuz looks kind of heavy

  10. Allison says:

    Nothing’s in stock :(.

  11. Tara C says:

Where do you put the decorative pillows at night? We end up throwing ours in a pile, but I always wish there was a better way!
