Last week we revealed our modern cottage bathroom, and we always get a big request to share a Look For Less roundup. It’s so fun to put together and share, but it can be tricky when labor varies from area to area, or if there are a lot of customizations. If you can remember where the bathroom started, this room was completely demo’d, and reconfigured, plus we put in three new windows. We even looked at purchasing vanities, and the space was just so big that the vanities would have looked more like doll furniture. Needless to say, the vanities were custom built, the shower door was fabricated, and because of all of the construction and custom work, this was honestly one of our biggest project budgets to date. Plus, before we moved into this house we had just barely finished renovating our main bathroom, so we wanted to put it higher on our priority list and really make it the bathroom of our dreams. Once you have a beautifully, functioning bathroom, it’s hard to go back.
We always want our renovations to be inspiring and we hope that these Look For Less posts make you feel empowered to maybe use a few of these ideas in your own spaces, but to also incorporate other elements in. Obviously we did a whole gallery wall around the bathtub and some of that art I have been collecting over the years. Going and buying a bunch of art and frames might not be in the budget for everybody, but you can find a place to start, and then grow from there. Check out this post to get started creating your own!
Below, we’ve rounded up a bunch of look-a-likes for the finishes we chose for our bathroom. That vanity is pretty slick, right?! You can use them as additional inspiration to kick off your own bathroom, or as a starting place to start searching! Anyone else doing a bathroom this year?

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

The next project we’re checking off our 2023 project list is the mudroom! This used to be the laundry room until we built out a much bigger, better laundry room upstairs. So, in the meantime, this space has been exclusively Cricket’s room. Cricket will still have a special space here, but we’re transforming this dingy […]

Hi Julia!
Love everything about your designs!! I’m looking into the knobs you have linked so i can use them on these black bed side stands I found. What size did you order from Etsy? Or what size would you recommend?
I would like to wallpaper our half-bath in our foyer. It’s an average size with a toilet and pedestal sink. The wallpaper hanger estimated TEN rolls, which seems like a lot, esp when all the ones I like are between $90 and $137 per roll. Is he right? For comparison, how many rolls did your master bath water closet require? Thank you!
That can’t be true! I think we used 2 for ours.
Post more! Seriously, I am really digging what you have written so far about bathroom remodeling. I’ve scanning your blog right now for more things to read. https://www.portarthurbathroomremodeling.com/
Hey Julia! Your new bathroom is gorgeous!!! I would love to know if you’ve found a dupe for the Rejuvenation Tolson hooks! I’ve had my eye on them for a while, but $42 each is a bit too much of a splurge for my budget bathroom refresh!
I’ll see what I can find!
Hi Julia and Chris! Just wanted to share that we just installed this “dupe” vanity in our bathroom renovation and love it! So I highly recommend for others.
Hi,Julia. First of all i love your style and design. I get a lot of inspiration from your ig photos.
I got a questions i see you always use a embedded sink instead of an overhead one! Is there a reason for that choice? Im thinking in a remo and i cannot decide which one to choose.
It’s so much easier to clean!
What a great post! it’s so helpful. Thank you. Your bathroom is magnificent!!!!!
