We partnered with Rejuvenation to outfit the laundry room with a few crowning moments, including two fabulous accent lights and unlacquered brass pulls for the cabinets. (And bonus! there’s a honkin’ Rejuvenation giveaway for you at the end!)
Initially, we were just going to do recessed lights in the laundry room, but I couldn’t get the idea of small accent lights out of my mind–so we did both! We installed 4inch Halo recessed lights we picked up from Lowe’s with two small flushmounts in the center. I knew that we were going to paint the door black and I wanted to carry that up to the ceiling. I customized Rejuvenation’s 2 1/4″ Thurman with an old brass base finish and 5″ glossy black metal dome shades.
We love them. It’s a classic look, but just different enough to make a statement. We have the flushmounts and recessed lighting on two different switches so we can control the amount of light we prefer at the time. I turned them off here just so you could actually see the lights a little better. The Thurmans will be connected to the under cabinet lighting we have planned and the two will give a nice amount of soft, ambient light.
Once the lighting was in, we moved onto hardware. We chose Rejuvenation’s 4″ Mission Bin Pull in unlacquered brass. We pulled out our trusty hardware template we had on hand and realized the lip on the side prevented us from centering it in the middle of our doors as we had envisioned. Wah, wahhh.
Since it was only $7ish, and we already used it for putting hardware on our last home’s cabinets and our quick revamp of our current kitchen, we cut that side lip off which allowed us to center it (with the help of measuring tape) and still keep it level with the bottom.
Once we marked the proper holes, Chris made small pilot holes–indentions really–before screwing the hardware on.
Ta-da! I love that the bin pulls centered at the bottom (instead of traditional hardware mounted on the sides) keep these cabinets, which open two different ways, looking uniform and tidy–which is really important in such a small space. We have one more cabinet that we’re installing, a slim drawer base cabinet, where the bin pull will work perfectly there, too.
And now for the fun part! We have partnered with Rejuvenation to give away $250 worth of goods to one of our readers! The giveaway will run through Friday, the 24th and, everyone that enters will receive a special discount code too. :) You can enter through the Rafflecopter form below. Take Luck!
We partnered with our long-time friends at Rejuvenation for this project. They sent us the Thurman 2 1/4″ flushmounts and mission bin pulls but we were not paid to promote them or these products. All opinions and words are our own. The generous giveaway–that’s all them. ;)
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

We recently painted our study a dark, moody green color. This is after we first painted it a muddy green, then repainted it a blue-gray. I guess what they say is true; third time’s a charm! The journey was worth it, though, because I’m so in love with this glossy green in contrast with the […]

Hey-O
It’s been (almost) two weeks. Where you at?
Funny, I put up a post this morning! We went on vacation. Glad to be back in the saddle and thanks for checking in. :)
The details in this room are just making me go crazy! They are perfect. I know you’re talented, but dang girl! This is coming straight out of a magazine! Every choice has been spot on. I can’t wait for you to come and design my dream home some day :-)
Such a unique choice of cabinet hardware. And what a perfect room to experiment in with the kitchen remodel looming in the future! Can’t wait to see the whole room come together.
I love love love the positioning of the handles. It looks so lux and makes a huge difference!
Can I take a moment and recognize “take luck”? Fellow Brian Regan fan?
Do you find it awkward to open the cabinet doors with the handles centered?
Not at all. I think if they were bigger doors, I can see how the resistance could maybe be a little weird, but they are only 15″ and 18″ doors–it feels natural, really.
Ahh! Welcome to the cool kids club. ;) ‘Grats on picking that up.
Thank you for the opportunity to win!
Love the lights and the pulls in the middle of the doors. I love vicariously living through your laundry room make over.
