It has been the most amazing, busy, exhausting week. We’ve had non-stop showings of our home every day which means I wake up at the crack of dawn every morning and reset the house to show worthy. (I have a post coming next week that goes into more detail on what that entails!). We made amazing progress in the Fullmer kitchen (and they had their baby girl)!, we helped my parents officially move into their new home (it’s 8 minutes from our new house–we clocked it!), and, pinch me, Studio McGee came to our house to shoot their new outdoor collection on our deck before we move. It was a dream day and the perfect send off of this home. Every piece was so perfect, but I especially fell in love with this McGee & Co outdoor rug and this large, gray rattan planter. I’ll share pics next week!
More fun things this week!
• Hair clips are trending and I’m here for it! I’m easing into the look with these tortoise clips–(no one is surprised, right!?) they’re so good and never slip!
• Yellow Brick Home put together the most fun VLOG of our recent trip to Chicago with them and Young House Love. Kim is also sharing a list of all the places we went here.
• Rejuvenation is having a big rug sale (up to 50% off!) and having 3 rugs in our home from them, we cannot express how wonderful the quality is. I linked the best deals below!
• This bathroom by Katie Martinez Design was designed to feel more like a room, than a bathroom and it’s just so inspiring!
• Beware of destination addiction.
• We’re excited to share more about our new house once we close in a couple weeks, but here’s a hint on the style we’ll be channeling!
• This yellow striped swimsuit is SO cute and under $30! I love this high neck one, too!
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Im exhausted just reading this! Those aren’t little tasks either. I love watching everything you guys do and am excited to see more into your new home.
YOU BOUGHT A TUDOR??!!!
* sits back and lives vicariously through you *
I AM DYING TO SEE THE NEW HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg. your current house is such an inspiration for me, but we have a historic farmhouse that dictates a lot of my choices, so i have to pick and choose – like using things that have clean lines, bold+neutral colors, and black peppered throughout…if you guys do any type of historic house i might just explode.
Hi I’m new to Instagram and YouTube, I know really???????? but been busy with life anyway out of curiosity why are you guys leaving?? Your house is beautiful and I love your amazing design ideas and recently what you have done with your friends kitchen…????
Well how about that! We’ve been working on a Tudor Revival, built in 1908, for the past three years. Is the new home historic? Love to see how you interpret the spaces.
It’s not historic, but we’re excited to infuse it with some character for sure.
TUDOR STYLE YESSSSSSS!
Tudor’s are the most drool worthy houses ever!!! I’m sure yours is going to be so beautiful! I have a Pinterest board just for Tudor houses and have even put together some house plans for it. So excited for you to start sharing! Also, way to go in the studio McGee using your house thing! That is a huge compliment ????
I’ve dreamed of a Tudor since I was a little girl-I can’t wait to see your take on it!
Knowing you’re moving to a Tudor has eliminated all sad thoughts about you moving from this home! So excited!
Oh wow, we have a tudor house. I’d better be careful so my husband doesn’t want to ban me from your site…I know I will be getting lots of inspiration from you! I think your current house is lovely, and would move in in a second, but I’m really looking forward to this!
You have literally pinned 90% of my Instagram saves for our remodel! So interesting that it’s a Tudor. We are in TN working with a 1979 structure on a mountainside that needs a “refresher”- I’m calling it it cozy modern. Will this be your forever home to the extent that any of us ever say, “forever”?
Haha, we thought this was our forever home and it turned out to not be. You just never know what life is going to throw at you. But we do see us in this next home for a good long long time.
Now I can understand why you can abandon your current house????
TUDOR. I am excited so excited to see how you mix your love of modern in with this.
Cannot wait to see how you make this new house home! If anyone can combine that elegant charm of a tudor style with comfy-cozy, it’s you guys. So excited to follow along!
Also, the destination addiction post – such a much needed reminder. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, a Tudor! How cool! I was pointing out a Tudor house to my kids the other day, and they were all, “tooter?!? Buahahaha!!!” Kids.
Tudor style!!! I love it!!
I can’t wait to see more of the house you bought! My family is looking to relocate to Idaho Falls soon, so I’ve had my eye on the real estate there. There was a house that I thought might be the one you bought (and after seeing the inspiration pictures, it would fit perfectly with that vision), but that house came back on the market the other day. ???? So, yeah. Excited to see it come to life!
WOW!!! I am so excited to see what y’all do in this traditional Tudor style. I have a house that really leans into the Tudor style. You guys amaze me taking on the challenge of completely new style. ????????????
I’m so excited for your new house! Our amazing Seattle friends have a stunning Tudor style home on Lake Washington( With an 8 million dollar price tag ????) and it’s my favorite house ever! I can’t wait to see your spin on it!
Oh Man, I am so thrilled with your new design direction! I have always enjoyed your content but the style wasn’t quite aligned with mine but this new direction is SO AWESOME!
YAYYYY! That’s the style of my house, and I have *struggled* with the exterior since we bought it 3 years ago. Could not be more excited for your reveal and to follow along with the updates! (And congrats!)
Oh, I cannot WAIT to see you do a tutor house. So fun! :-)
