The last project we did before having Faye was installing baseboards in her room. In fact, we are pretty certain that was a factor in Faye’s early arrival. I love Chris’s update at the end of that post.
While we were so so grateful we were able to finish her room, the last 6 months our baseboard-less walls have been haunting us.
We finally carved out some time last weekend to cut and install all the boards–we used the same 4 1/2″ ones from Home Depot we got for Faye’s room–and over the last few days I have caulked and patched and touched up paint (#theclaw) so that now, 6 months later, we have completed baseboards throughout the main level!
We’re done!
We’re done!!
We’re done!!!
Well almost done. We didn’t add baseboards to our room because we plan on wallpapering in there and know it will be easier to add those after the paper goes up–which we’re thinking we’ll start on in the next month. But back to the finished baseboards; after six months of no baseboards and another 2 of no baseboards or floors, we nearly forgot what it felt like. I dare say we got used to the dingy look. And now, suddenly, it feels so home-y in here. Checked that (and paint all the door and window trim…seriously #theclaw!) off our pre-party to-do list.
Shooting for a Greta room reveal on Monday!! Have a great weekend you guys.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

We recently painted our study a dark, moody green color. This is after we first painted it a muddy green, then repainted it a blue-gray. I guess what they say is true; third time’s a charm! The journey was worth it, though, because I’m so in love with this glossy green in contrast with the […]

OMG! You seriously have no idea how overjoyed I am to know that I’m not the only person who did this. I felt such shame having people over to my baseboard-less house!
We’re in the same boat…the baseboards have been patiently waiting in our front room for two months now. In that last picture, is that a rounded corner? How did you figure out the correct angles to fit around those?
I haven’t even read the entry yet and the title made me cheer out loud “YAAAAAY!” :) Love your home!
Yayyyyy! So much work and the end result is perfection! Now, go order yo self a pizza and enjoy!
