This past summer, we had the great opportunity to work with Sabrina Smelko at Design Sponge to feature a house tour. And today, it is finally live! You can read and see the whole thing, “A Family Home in Idaho Where Comfort, Function & Dinner Parties Reign” right here. Thanks to the whole D*S staff, especially Sabrina (who’s now moved on to host an HGTV Canada show) for putting our home in such a safe, lovely light. That title warmed my whole heart–home is a good place to be today.
Other features this week!
• Better Homes and Garden’s November issue features the kitchen we designed and renovated in 6 days this past summer! (Plus, so many other outstanding articles. Great issue to be a part of!) You can see more photos, the full reveal and all the sources for that project right here.
• Today, we’re also taking over the liketoknow.it.home instagram account! If you are unfamiliar with LIKEtoKNOW.it, it’s a way to get shoppable room sources directly to your email. You can sign up at www.LIKEtoKNOW.it and then any photo you “like” on Instagram with a liketk.it tag, you’ll get the sources for the room sent directly to your email.
• This morning, they recreated our faux soapstone countertops on the Rachael Ray show and even shared a glimpse of our old in progress kitchen (a really rough photo–haha). You can watch the clip right here and our tutorial for the countertops can be found right here.
• Lastly, apparently last week, the pictures of us dressed up as The Beatles for Halloween were on Access Hollywood. I still have yet to track down the clip, but we’ve heard from several people now. If anyone has it–that would be fun to see!
Happy Monday!
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

can you tell me the color on the walls of the playroom?
Simply White by Benjamin Moore!
So much exciting stuff! Congrats to you guys and hope you have an awesome halloween party!!
I saw the pic in BHG and thought — wait, I know that kitchen! Congrats.
What a lot of great press! Congratulations. I too, am so surprised that you are not told that your content is being used beforehand.
So that’s crazy – none of these outlets tell you that they’re using your content (or get permission)? I knew there was a lot of blogger/Pinterest shenanigans about posting/sharing someone else’s work without credit, but even talk shows are doing it too? It sounded like John Gidding maybe tried to give you credit, but got buried in all the other talk at the end of the segment.
Congrats! I hope you find the video clip from Access Hollywood.
I’m sorry – you were on Access Hollywood and you slip that in there like it is no big deal?!
You guys! Everything here is so exciting and SO deserved! We’re over here geeking about all your success. Go, CLJ!
