Title: Ep 17: No Money No Problems – Projects You Can Do Now, On The Cheap
Show Notes: Nearly every home owner who wants to renovate experiences that point where you simply don’t have the money to do the things you want. And sometimes, when the furnace, water heater and AC units all go out in the same year, you may not be left with any money at all. How do you still make progress?
This episode is all about projects that can be done regardless of what your budget is. Even if you have no money to spend, there’s no need to sit and deal with a space that makes you cringe. Chris and Julia talk about projects they’ve seen done, as well as some they’ve done themselves, and how to make little improvements that can help you love your home now.

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Did you make the wooden shelf on top of the sofa or where did you get it from? I really need something similar for an empty wall. Thanks for your help!
We did! Check out this post for more on that.
Preston mentioned that they have the same paint colour all throughout their house. I would love to know what it is!
Also I love their dining room chairs (seen in their kitchen post). Does he have a source for those?
Thanks for making my morning commute so much happier guys!
I know you mentioned some DIY art, that was black and white for kids. Do you have the link to that?
When listening to the podcast I also thought of adding plants to your list of things to put in your house that are easy on the $$$. I know when I have added herbs in my kitchen or some type of greenery (is that a word?) it is a quick nice way to change up my space
