(Name that movie)
There have been some inquiries about this blog and where we are headed. I don’t know what initiated it all, but I have made up my mind about some things blog related that I gotta share. This blog is about us. This blog is about our life and all the things we do that make us happy, sappy and sometimes sad. It’s about what we do when we choose to do things, and when we choose to lay around and snuggle and watch a musical, that’s gonna get documented, too.
We have a daughter. Her name is Greta and she is the love of our lives. When we all go to the park as a family, we’ll put it on the blog. With pictures. And videos. She’ll continue to have her daily blog that is all-things-Greta and it’s still private (send me your e-mail address if you would like to view it), but I want to talk about her on “Chris loves Julia” again. I miss talking about her. I’m not going to let myself miss that anymore.
When Chris cooks an amazing meal, he’s gonna write about it. On the right sidebar, you’ll find a list of what’s cookin’ this week at our house. Feel free to copy ideas, ask questions and share what you’re making. We’d love to hear about it.
When I get all crafty artsy, I’m gonna share. When I vamp up the home, I’ll snap some pics and post it. Because that is what makes me happy.
We are not in the business of getting thousands of followers or even sponsors. In fact, we will never ask you to “follow” us. Never have. Never will. When we do our giveaways, anybody can win- follower or non-follower. We love to write, we love to share and we love making new friends. We want to share what we love, and hopefully meet other people who love the same things. If you’re one of those people, or know someone that is, we’re happy to share our lives with you and “meet” them too, in a virtual sense.
xoxo

Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

love it. keepin’ it real is what it’s all about. xoxo
and we will keep on reading- love it!
I’m honestly pretty tired of reading about people asking for sponsors and to please follow them…so thank you for the reprieve :)
I follow your blog because I find you guys incredibly real. I don’t even know what I would say if someone asked me where my blog was going. I think about that often. I’m sorta green, sorta frugal, sorta foodie, sorta whatever. Sometimes I feel like my readers think I am cuckoo cachoo and totally wing it. So what? Maybe I do. I say just wing it and have fun. When it isn’t fun anymore that is when it isn’t worth it.
