Last night, Greta slept in her crib in her nursery. I had a mental breakdown about 1 am. I just didn’t like her being so far away. I was so paranoid that I wouldn’t hear her. Chris calmed me down and reassured me and then left it up to me if I wanted to put her back in our room in her bassinet. I thought about it and decided to see how the rest of the night went. I was awake in bed most of the night just straining my ears at her every grunt. And then I startled myself when I did fall asleep and woke up to her little tongue slapping her lips. I could hear it. FROM THE OTHER ROOM! Little Victory. I am feeling better about her being in the nursery.
Also, I packed up and sent off all my maternity clothes to my sister this week. (She’s expecting a little boy in July) I am under my pre-pregnancy weight and wearing my actual jeans and it feels pretty victorious. Things definitely still need to tone up and I still want to lose maybe 15 pounds, but I am on a roll!
Last little victory: If I concentrate really hard, I can almost shut my right eye. Booyah!
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Yay! I think these sound like HUGE victories! I’m not even going to tell you how long it took us to get Zoe in her own room! It sounds like you are doing such a great job. I can’t wait to meet Greta! :)
hahaha…I love this post! It brought back memories for me. I’d say you’re doing great. It took me 2 months before I put Maddie in her nursery. When I finally did, I was so paranoid that I wouldn’t hear her cry, so I slept on the hardwood floor for 3 days before I believed that she was probably fine. You’re a great mom
not only was this a great week for us, it was a great week for you too!!! Either you sent us your good vibes, or vice versa buuut victories are essential in my life!!
And we are seriously so excited to kick Brin into her own room when we get to gma and gpas. She makes sooooooooo much noise!!!
