Meet Harrison:

The fourth and newest member of our family.  We just got him tonight and I can’t stop smiling.  He’s a stylish and sophisticated 2003 Acura MDX.  Low mileage–high style.  Love him already!  We traded in Chris’s longtime girlfriend, Brittany, (SEE YA!) for $3,200.  We couldn’t believe the guy was actually gonna give us that for the ’97 Toyota Camry (complete with cracked windshield, dead battery, broken side-view mirror and 176,101 miles).  Honestly, that was the selling point for me: getting that much for a trade-in.  I hate spending money.  I have avoided and/or ignored all conversations we have had about getting a new car because I couldn’t stomach forking out monthly payments again.  (Our cars were both paid off–as if it wasn’t obvious that a 1997 and  a 2002 car would be paid off by 2010.)  I thought for sure that I would feel sick all night after signing the…

4 months and Hot tubbin’

Last Thursday, Chris and I took Greta to her four month appointment…together.  We are such proud parents.  And there is PA-LENTY to be proud of.  Our not-so-little girl is 26″ long as of last week and 15 pounds 9 oz.  As of last week–that means this week, she’s most likely over 16 pounds and about ready to dunk a basketball.  She is growing very fast.  She talks nonstop and will smile at anyone who will talk to her or smile at her or look at her.  She’s a happy baby.  She likes standing up and sitting up and nuzzling into your neck.  Ah, I love her. Saturday I took off to Idaho for my sister, Patty’s baby shower.  Chris is away on business for an entire week, so I am staying with my parents.  We have never been away from each other this long.  So far, it’s hard, but I…

Marcum Summer Kickoff!

What started out like this…                                   ….actually turned out to be really fun! Greta hardly looked up the whole time because the sun was SO bright!  I smothered her with sunscreen–even in her hair, but the reality is she needs a little hat and mini sunglasses to call her own. After about 30-45 minutes, we thought her little skin had enough.  She could have swam longer by this point though.  She was really kicking and enjoying it.  I was just a worried mom and didn’t want her to get burnt.  After swimming, Greta snuggled up in Chris’s…
