My days start off calm. I wake up to the sound of Chris showering for work and the sun just barely peeking in our window. It’s 7am. In no time, I hear Greta’s little feet coming up the stairs and she climbs into bed with me and before Chris leaves, Faye starts stirring. For a just a few minutes, we’re all together. Rested. And ready for a new day.
By noon, sometimes Chris is able to come home for lunch (he work just a couple miles away) and the house feels chaotic. My day’s to-do list is in full swing and the dining room table is showing all of the evidence. Greta is riding around on her scooter asking me if it is after 2 o’ clock yet so she can go play with a friend. She’s been asking since 10. Faye is cranky and it is about time for her second nap and Charly is rolling around on the living room carpet as if begging me to vacuum it. And we all want lunch. What is for lunch anyway?
By 7:30pm, the house is quiet again. Both girls are asleep. I turn on the shower and wash the day away. We turn on Netflix and catch up on our shows while Chris and I are clicking away on our keyboards–trying not to think about what to have for a treat tonight.

Have a wonderful weekend. We have a garage full of baseboards that we’re strangely excited about.
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

Baseboards!
Showers at night are sooo refreshing.
These are absolutely gorgeous! I have been an admirer for awhile, do you by chance do customs?
“…trying not to think about what to have for a treat tonight.” Every. Single. Night.
Lovely post!
I like these! Happy Friday!
Great theme!
