Giveaway is now closed. Congrats to our winners, Tanya and Paulina! You have both been emailed.

Greta is growing like a weed. I mean, she has been for four years straight (!!) but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Always growing means always eating and I am always in the kitchen making something for her. I had this idea to make her a snack bin for our pantry so she can get something to munch on by herself.

IMG_6867

I just covered an old popcorn tin with a chalkboard label, similar to the ones I used for Faye’s nursery baskets, and put it at Greta’s level in the pantry. She likes to have a say in what she eats, so I keep it stocked with a lot of different sweet and savory options so she can pick whatever she wants.

IMG_6853

The NatureBox snacks are great because they are all healthy (No High Fructose Corn Syrup, No Partially Hydrogenated Oils, No Trans Fats, No Artificial Sweeteners, No Artificial Flavors, No Artificial Colors) and even though she always goes for the fruit chews first, she seems to enjoy the other ones, too! As soon as we receive our monthly delivery, I divide them into small snack bags. Each bag has 3-5 servings in it, but I usually get at least 5-6 servings from each bag for Greta’s snack bin.

IMG_6854

I keep an eye out for what goes the fastest (the carrot strawberry fruit chews and the salted caramel pretzel pops this month!) and what lingers (the everything bagel stix were a hit with Chris and I, but Greta didn’t like them as much) and pick some new things for next month.

IMG_6859

(Yes, Greta has been having “fun” with markers…again.) They whole system has been working so great! Greta can pick a snack whenever she wants, she doesn’t need to ask and I don’t feel guilty because I know she is snacking healthy. I think I am going to start one for the fridge with string cheese, yogurts and fresh fruit, too! Do you have a snack bin for your child? Or you? ;)

Good news! We are giving away TWO free 6-month subscriptions to NatureBox! Enter the giveaway by clicking here to browse what snacks NatureBox has to offer, and then comment on what snack you’d like to try. Easy peasy. (Open to readers with a US shipping address only–sorry!) We’ll announce the two winners next Wednesday. Take Luck!

Ps. If you’d like to try NatureBox right now (we have really loved it!) they are also offering our readers 50% off your first Deluxe box using code CHRISLOVESJULIA (Promotion is good for 50% off your first NatureBox or $10 off your first box in your first prepaid subscription. New and US subscribers only.) with free shipping, as always.
