We believe we should all love where we live.

We’re a couple of homebodies, working to uncover the home our home wants to be. And we’re so happy to have you here.

Befores, afters, mood boards, plans, failures, wins. We’ve done a lot of projects, and they’re all here.

We have a long-standing relationship with DIY, and love rolling our sleeves up and making it happen.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.

This weekend, we made the 4.5 hour trip north to Idaho to visit our parents–both of our parents now live in the same small town and it is pretty great to see all of them when we make the trip. It was necessary to unwind a little bit before I head off again.  Staying at Chris’s parents’ house is always special because he and his dad actually built the home themselves 12 years ago.  I love hearing them still talk about the time, discipline and sacrifice (Chris was just 17) that went into it and Chris still dreams of owning it one day. And funny, the more time I spend there, the more I love it too.  It’s pretty special.

The other reason we drove up to Idaho was so Chris could have some extra help with Greta (and Charly!) while he works because I’m on my way to an exclusive blogger event for Delta faucets at their headquarters in Indianapolis. I’m excited…and nervous. I don’t think I’m alone in feeling nervous when rubbing shoulders with other fabulous bloggers, or even adults in general. (Maybe I am?) It’s so much easier to know someone when walking into a room.  For being so involved in social media, it’s comical how we have evolved into not a very social society. I am excited at the opportunity and flattered with the invitation and can’t wait to meet a few new people–just hoping my nerves settle a bit.  While I’ll be instagramming @chrislovesjulia (of course), the blog schedule might be more sporadic.  However, I do have some pretty exciting news to share tomorrow.  So….teaser mcteaserson. See you then.

  1. That’s so neat that they built it together – so many special memories!

  2. I’m still battling my awkward self! We’ve been trying to be more social. Such shut ins we are!

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]
