A Good Throw's Job

This weekend, Greta's room got another dose of whimsey:

You can see from Greta's original mood board below, we were planning on adding a bold pink throw with pom poms to the bottom of her bed.
But, when the pelmet box changed from green cub print upholstery to plain white velvet (among other changes the mood board has undergone as the room evolved)--we were feeling the need to add another fun pattern in. Plus, the curtains just got a dose of pom poms.  Luckily, we kind of fell for Karrie and her eco throws over at Happy Habitat

Specifically the Pez blanket in Candy. That's the actual name and color of this darling throw.  Which makes me believe even more it is perfect for Greta's room.  The girl and her candy. I got in touch with Karrie right after Christmas, when my sister gifted the "Greta the Great" poster to us for Christmas.  The color match was uncanny (!!) and the fun scalloped print makes this taupe-y/grasscloth/pelmet box room feel a little more toddler-chic, right?!

Aside from the cute-factor, the throw is thick and has a really great weight to it--plus it is made from 80% recycled cotton--so we can feel good about giving this cotton a second life and it is beyond soft. But more than anything--it is really making Greta's big girl room now and tying a lot of elements together.  I think it is safe to say--that's a good throw's job: Tie a room together and be soft enough to cuddle in. Check and check.

So while Greta's room is donning (and rocking!) a little Pez Candy courtesy of Karrie, one of your casas is getting a Happy Habitat throw, too! Your choice! Come back tomorrow for the giveaway, but in the meantime--feel free to start eyeing your selection here

Update: Hit up the eco-throw giveaway going on right now here.

  1. Wow, I really love the way you've balanced it all out. I was confused at first by the black butterflies but I hadn't made the connection between them and the dark frames on the other wall. Such a beautiful room! I bet it looks even better in person.

    1. Oh yeah, they take up the whole wall! The two frames holding the horizontal prints are about 20"x28". This one (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40243544/) and the big one in the middle is 28"x40" this one (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30132527/).
