Befores, afters, mood boards, plans, failures, wins. We’ve done a lot of projects, and they’re all here.

We have a long-standing relationship with DIY, and love rolling our sleeves up and making it happen.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.

I’m baa-aack. And before we get into the main chunk of the post, Happy Cyber Monday!  May the online shopping odds be ever in your favor.  Today and tomorrow (the 26th and 27th), take 35% off anything in our Etsy shop with promo code CYBERMONDAY.  That includes original paintings and prints.  Woot!
We had such a great Thanksgiving break in Idaho visiting our families.  Chris got me an iPhone for my birthday so I heavily documented our whole trip via Instagram (@chrislovesjulia).   Here’s a sneak peak at what we’ve been up to the last few days:

It was a wonderful holiday and we both added a few pounds to our frames with all the food with inhaled.  In fact, the only time I broke out my actual camera, was to snap a photo of my favorite little holiday hor d’oeuvre I whipped up for Thanksgiving so I could share with all of you.  Here’s how the appetizer stacks up:

Maybe the only reason I call these “holiday” stackers is because we always have them around this time of year but they will, undoubtedly, make another appearance at Christmas.  And now that I have shared the “recipe” (cut and stack–my kind of recipe), maybe they’ll make their holiday debut at your house too?

How was your holiday? As much fun as we had, it’s true what they say–there’s no place like home.

These are genius! I might just start making them for dinner too!

  2. How do you feel about shrimp? Sometimes that explosion makes me gag a little, sometimes I can take it.

  3. We did! Hope you did, too!

  4. That sounds delicious and sophisticated!!

Those look yummy! I am heading to a holiday party this weekend and think these may be the thing I bring – simple, not sweet, and filling. I’ve made a similar version with prosciutto, a variety of olives, salami, and mozzarella. It’s like a bite-size antipasto platter!

  6. Ooooh, yum! I have to bring something to a potluck on Thursday and yes, this is my kind of recipe too!

  7. Hahaha! Love the Instagram photos! Looks like you guys had an amazing holiday!

  8. KristiMY says:

You. Are. Gorgeous. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving!

  9. Amanda @ Our Humble Abode says:

Looks like you had a great Thanksgiving! And, those stackers are a genius idea! As in I’m seriously looking for other things to put on a stick to call an appetizer. :)

Adding those to my holiday food list!!!! Not only are they adorable, but that combo makes my heart leap. I could do without the grape tomatoes though…I’m weird I know. But I haaaate the explosion those tomatoes make!!!

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]
