It’s time for our annual laundry room revamp. Ha! I wish I was joking. We really would love to not make fixing up the laundry room/half bath an annual thing–but time has worn this baby down again. Last year, we took the original space:
And made it more presentable for our costume party guests:
Fast forward a year, and it is looking like this:
Aw man! Because this is the only bathroom downstairs, it is automatically the place where we send our visitors when they need to use the restroom, so a quick makeover for this year’s party is imperative. We would love to replace the dingy, blue-gray floors, but that doesn’t exactly fit into our budget or time frame–but we do have plans to refresh them. The to-do list breaks down like this:
- Clean and Refresh tile floors
- Remove tile on walls and add baseboard
- Repaint the vanity
- Add a new sink and faucet
- Replace the small mirror with something larger
- Carry chair molding (??) throughout the whole room
- Paint above or below the chair molding?
- Add art
- Find a new blue-ish runner that will compliment the floors better
From our to-do list, you may notice that the theme is embracing the blue-gray-not-our-favorite floors this time around. Last year, we chose to ignore them and it lead to a mumbo jumbo of non-cohesiveness.
We hope by picking up a few more blue accents in the space, it will feel more put together. Fingers crossed! Since we are only giving ourselves a week to do this little renovation (yes, a week!), forgive us for already getting started last night. First on our to-do list–saying “goodbye” to our disgusting sink and faucet.
More like, “Good Riddance!” They were un-cleanable. The bisque color was part of the blame, but the sink and caulking were also seriously stained. Washing your hands felt counter-productive. We have plans to hopefully revamp and reuse the vanity, but the sink had to go. Chris demolished that sucker last night:
Before we put on our new, clean, white sink that we picked up at Ikea a couple nights ago, I gotta give that green vanity some attention. We’ll revisit that soon, but tonight’s agenda is flooring and baseboards. Here’s hoping we can get that floor looking better. We’re counting on it! I love revamping these smaller spaces. Everything goes so much faster. Hold on, it’s gonna be a quick ride. *Knock on wood.*

Oh! I love seeing how this bathroom changes. It’s nice to revamp small spaces. You can accomplish a lot more in a lot less time. If anyone can do it in a week, it’s you. :)
