The bed is cherry and definitely not our favorite wood color (it may get a paint job during the bedroom revamp), but we chose this bed right after we got married and we didn’t know any better. I decided I would get 2 1/2 yards of the fabric and we like it for the headboard–great. If not, I can use it elsewhere.
So I did. For 2.5 yards, my total was $10.60. Which breaks down to $4.24 a yard. Niiiccceee. I love it, and Greta thinks it is the softest thing ever:
Our wood grain Shaker cabinet fronts were designed for busy, high-traffic homes like ours. Clad with durable textured thermofoils, this line is compatible with Sektion, Akurum, Godmorgon, and Besta cabinets from IKEA. It's the perfect, practical way to add the warmth of wood to all the rooms of your home.
We have teamed up with Loloi to create a line of rugs that are as affordable as they are beautiful. This collection houses a great mix of traditional and modern rugs, in cottage-y colorways, as well as vintage-inspired beauties that you’ll want to roll out in every room.
We partnered with Stuga on a line of hardwood floors — The Ingrid is really livable, and the color is very neutral. It doesn’t lean warm or cool, it’s that just right in-between. We have really loved putting it everywhere in our house. It’s the best jumping-off point for design, no matter your interior style. In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable — we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. Ingrid stands up to it all.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]

That is some niice fabric. Paint it paint it!
Oh you should totally paint the bed! That fabric is too pretty to pass up. Our bed is cherry too. And I am super sick of it. Here’s to waiting see what you come up with! I have a bad case of bedroom blues and need some ideas. :)
Love the idea about using it for pillows! If your bed is white, what color do you WISH it was? We are leaning toward white, but I don’t want to regret it.
I’m team paint-the-bed. That’s probably because I want to paint my bed one day (it’s like a creamy white but we’re already bored with it). If nothing else, you can always use that fabric for large pillows to put on the bed.
I love it! Great find!
Funny, indeed! Great minds think alike. I would love to see pictures!!
I painted my bedroom the same color a few weeks ago! I have the same accent color as your fabric. Too funny! I started having some bright yellows in the attached bathroom that I’ve been bringing into the room as well.
We definitely have our hearts set on some fresh, white bedding to add some light to the room. I would love for the velvet to work on the headboard–but we shall see. The cherry bed frame, brownish gray walls and turquoise are NOT jiving as they are.
You surprise me ALL THE TIME. Right when I think I have you and your design taste figured out….you go and buy turquoise velvet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my oh my oh my….I can’t WAIT to see what you do with it! It is a gorgeous color and oh my against those grey walls??? soooo beautiful! and cozy for a bedroom. I agree that as drapes, waaaay to heavy.
I tooootally want a white bedroom set and keep it nice and light and cozy. But right now, a white bedroom set against nasty apartment beige walls??? EEEKKK!
