Today I got it on with oil rubbed bronze–in a very PG way (I would say G, but maybe you shouldn’t be spray painting things without a parent, unless you ARE a parent).  I have 13 things on my projects to-do list this week and I knocked 2 of them off today with this Rust-oleum spray paint.

Gah! I’m addicted and holding myself back from giving everything an oil rubbed bronze finish.  The two lucky (or 5 if you are an optimist) contestants were that mirror that I painted blue last year and our white couch’s legs.

When I painted that mirror blue, I said that I would love it for a year before changing it, oops.  This particular bright blue, or maybe just the rustic finish, just doesn’t fit into our home’s palette anymore (which I’ll definitely share, soon).  And those silver metal legs looked cold.  And made the room look cold and cheap, too.

After a couple, thin coats of spray paint, they look rich and warm and add so much to the living room.  “So much” is subjective, of course.

Oil rubbed bronze is not black, but it’s not brown, either.  It has so much depth and this spray paint leaves a great shimmery, metallic look that looks chic and warm.  But you don’t have to take my (or LeVar Burton’s) word for it:

And, of course, our mirror found its spot right by the front door.  Our house is becoming home.  EEee!!
