Befores, afters, mood boards, plans, failures, wins. We’ve done a lot of projects, and they’re all here.

We have a long-standing relationship with DIY, and love rolling our sleeves up and making it happen.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.

Remember exactly one week ago when I told you that I had come up with a solution for an un-paintable wall?  (Heck, we are renters, all of our walls are unpaintable!)  Well, when we arrived back from Vegas, there it was, on our doorstep!  Woohoo!  I could hardly sleep last night and this morning I shunned all of my unpacking and laundering duties and got down to business putting up the WALL DECALS in our bedroom.

Before you comment on how extremely muted my room is, know that it is all getting an update.  Just try to focus on admiring that wall art.  I stumbled across them on Etsy and I was blown away.  And they cost less than $16!  Granted, the picture was completely photoshopped because the decals weren’t as large as they were pictured–but I am still satisfied at the much-needed pop and interest they have added to my master bedroom.

I plan on adding lots of color to our room by painting our mirrors and even adding fresh, new, patterned fabric to our lamps like this post of yore, so I went with white decals.  Plus, I really like how they tie in with our white down comforter.  White isn’t your color?  No fear.  These decals come in over 30 colors!!

So, are you ready to tackle a no-paint wall project for less than $16?  Do you have a certain color in mind that would look great on a wall in your home?
Next project: Painting those mirrors!  If you could paint my mirrors any of the above colors, which would it be?

What do you think?

  1. Hmmm… I’d go Persmimmon or Gentian Blue.

so cute, you are so crafty, I love it!

  3. I saw at the craft fair they mogde-poged around your mirrors and they looked awesome– that might be fun so that you can get more color and depth.

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]
