We believe we should all love where we live.

We’re a couple of homebodies, working to uncover the home our home wants to be. And we’re so happy to have you here.

Befores, afters, mood boards, plans, failures, wins. We’ve done a lot of projects, and they’re all here.

We have a long-standing relationship with DIY, and love rolling our sleeves up and making it happen.

Even when you don’t want to rip down a wall, you can make that space in your home better. Right now.

Greta’s pediatrician loves her.  He is older (I would say late 60s) and I hope he never retires.  He always comes in and talks to her for awhile like she can talk back.  He compliments her name every time and always tells me I am doing a great job, too.  I need to hear that.  Greta is a growing girl.  We just got back from her 6 month check-up.  She loved crinkling and tearing the paper covering the table.  She REALLY wanted to play with all the doctors tools hanging up.  She showed off her sitting up skills, her almost crawling skills and her cute smile.  When she got her shots, she gave the saddest frown–cried for less than 5 seconds–and then started laughing and smiling again.   She’s a sweetie and everyone was amazed that she is “ONLY SIX MONTHS?” Yeah, she’s pretty big:

Length: 27 3/4″
Weight: 18 lbs 4 oz
Head:  41.3 cm

I can no longer carry her around in her carseat.  It is way too heavy.  I thought that as she got bigger, my arms would gradually get stronger–not the case.  Now, if Chris isn’t around to carry the carseat from the car to the destination, I just carry Greta in my arms.  We got home, Greta had some bananas and carrots and went down for another nap.  That’s #2 for today–we’re making progress!!

A reader recently asked me if I’m starting to fully embrace traditional style and whether we still consider our house to be a “modern Colonial” and why. It was a really great question and so timely — I had really just been thinking about my approach to this home and how my style has changed […]
