Yesterday it started. Our diet. The one we have been talking about and promising ourselves we would stick to since our cruise to Mexico last summer. But I was pregnant…so we decided to wait 6 months until I wasn’t. Wow, those six months were full of good, good food. Some of my favorite treats homemade caramel popcorn mixed with Chex and peanuts. Endless wings. Pizza at least twice a week. Nachos. Frozen yogurt and peanut butter M&Ms mixed coldstone style. Peanut butter bananas. Pasta. No-bake oatmeal cookies, chocoloate chip cookies, Andes mint cookies. When people say they miss being pregnant—I am guessing THIS is what they must miss. Food glorious food.

Well, three weeks post-partum and summer is right around the corner. So we weighed in. *drumroll*

STARTING WEIGHT
Chris: 229 lbs
Julia: 161 lbs

Goal Weight
Chris: 190-195 lbs “Or maybe 200 with a little muscle”
Julia: 140-145 lbs

Although our late night snacks and meals have changed drastically, it is fun to have a goal and to shop in the produce section. In this Marcum household, “diet” doesn’t mean deprived. Last night’s menu included tasty chicken, eggplant and asparagus seasoned perfectly. I married a killer cook–we’ll be weighing in weekly. Stay tuned.

  1. O my gosh I am afraid to weight myself. Lol.

    You guys are brave! Ryan is so good at working out and limiting sugars. ME on the other hand has zero self control. I’m basically saying, no swimsuits this summer.
